Does anybody else laugh when they see some of the prices people are asking for domains? I'm no expert, but seen some right crap on offer lately for xxxx+ Domains, I wouldn't pay x for!

Is it just me who gets a chuckle out of seeing these?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
imo its everyones decision and right to ask whatever they want for their names...and its everyones right to use the ignore list as they see fit

in this way everyone can be satisified

I personally think this is just a whiners thread. IMHO

I rarely ever drop domains after the first year, except those I bought when I was drunk. :xf.grin:
You’re quoting Kenny Rogers, you must be drunk 😁

If I had 60m, I would just buy remote island without internet and moved there instead of buying virtual names

If I had 60 million I would complain that I don't have a 100 million :xf.wink:

I honestly don’t care what other people price their domains at. What is amusing is someone pricing it high here where 80 percent of the names wanted think $50 is end user pricing, 😂

Congrats that you have not made a minus in past, I wish you a high plus for future.

Maybe I made a plus of millions or even billions in past.
If not yet, then I am sure I will make such a plus in future - at least that's what I believe.

My latest domain that I have registered is
highest.plus
which is another proof that myyy domains are far awayyy from crappp
The day you sell all you great portfolio for xx,xxx dont forget rest from the sum all your xxx,xxx renewals.

hahaha thank you for your "advice" but better don't forget to consider that you do not knowww my portfoliooo which means that your "estimation" is nothing which could be taken serious in this context.

But regardless of this fact, you anyway just
think that you understand the value of domain names, but in fact you don't understand it (many think they understand it while the opposite is the case, so no offense), at least thats my current impression - so it doesn't mean that you won't understand it at another time.

However - I believe, that at the day on which I will sell my portfolio - or, more precisely, already just a certain domain of it - I will not be in need to reckon the cost of all renewals that I have paid because I will knowww in the same moment that they were just a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of what I (will, if) have earned finallyyy
The important point is not to know tha domain values, but sell it for more than you get it.
If you have a bunch of domains of which just you understand the value, they worth zero.

yes I agree, but what about IDNs? Are they useless? Are they a masterpiece? are they common words in another language?

Its your choice if you get agreed with their proposal. Be careful and evaluate domain pricing from an expert always. Never play blindly.

That's not the issue. The issue is that those people are delusional and wasting their time and hurting their rep.

If they list garbage names for high prices, that could be for two reasons:

1) they are waiting for someone stupid enough to buy the name which is fair enough, but pretty much no one with that much money to give is going to be that stupid

2) they are actually that delusional that they think those names they hand regged are worth that much to end users in which case they need some mentoring and a few slaps to their ego.
or there might be point no. 3) you just miss something and they know something which you dont .. can happen, imo :)

Lol Mapledots, you knew you did little wrong thing, but you still did it - we have some common features I see :)

But seriously, I hate discouraging or putting down another members (the following remark is general, it is not pointed towards you ) .. it is my observation that if one have a need to criticize or discourage or laught on others, it is usually a sign that one is not satisfied with himself/herself..if you are happy, you like others to be happy as well.

I would be also very careful to listen "experts" here: for example, I remember year ago or so, there was a member with veeeery long .top domain name, I am sure everyone knows who I am speaking about...he got lot of heat for his passion for .top, and we now learn that this extension sells surprisingly well in China for large amounts of money almost every day (check namebio). I have not read one comment here which would indicate such development, only this member was basically spot on...

No offence taken but lets discuss...

Making multiple topics for half baked domains that are not worth more than ten bucks and then repeatedly bumping them, all the while not taking advice from members, deserves to be picked on.

In fact I remember what I said now
I asked him if he was a bit touched in the head

I asked him if he had any idea what a million dollar domain even looked like.

Unlike your .top scenario which is not a comparable situation because something like one.top could be worth quite a bit but crappy .com's that would not ordinarily sell for a few hundred bucks don't magically become million dollar domains just because one keeps repeatedly bumping them.

:) haha, was waiting for someone to look it up ;;) just adding value to our " too much time " convo , hehe
HeHe.... why, are you selling million dollar domains? :xf.laugh::ROFL::xf.laugh::ROFL::xf.laugh::ROFL:

your exactly right and for that matter he was from asia somewhere also!

Oh, trust me he was not banned for flogging .top's, he was banned for spamming people via pm and email.

He tried incessantly to sell the same domains and polluted virtually every topic with the same advertisements for his domains. He tried to sell me maple.rocks and it just went on and on even though I made it clear I was not interested. That was minor compared to what he and his brother did via email. The constant emails did not stop and there are a few choice members that simply don't understand that no means no.

It has nothing to do with what they are selling and more to do with HOW they are selling.
They beat the same horse in every topic, pm, and email it gets old pretty fast.

Actually Keith, it's (sung to the tune The Gambler)

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done
:xf.wink:
Accept with domains you can buy back in for an entire year for the bargain price of $10. Worth the risk if you’ve done your homework.

I got a warning from our lovely moderator a few months back because I finally posted and asked if the guy had a mental issue or something. I said you keep bumping million dollar domains with an $8 reg fee and you're driving me nuts.

Amanda gave me proper hell but it was sooooooooooooooo satisfying just to post it once.

I had to, I could not take it any longer and afterwards I had a strange feeling of calm. :xf.laugh::xf.laugh::xf.laugh:

Until the big boss arrived to put me in my place :ROFL::ROFL:
you remind me the .company guy,who always asks millions to start auction for onr shit name.
had considered to talk with him then think if i talk with a mad, then i must be even more mad.

The problem was not extension, but his toptoptoptoptop....endless domain names.
You want to tell he sold sold them?
So where is he?
I am sure if he would sell them, he would come here to report report his sales.

@kingoftop?
@illuminatydomains?
What was his name? Who remember?

This thread is less informative than the chatroom, I keep seeing it at the top. can we at least rename it to
" Complainers making complaints about annoying members by being annoying also "

He dont just bumping them, he is also bought banner space...
Instead to waste money much better could be make landing page for each domain..
