Wasn't sure were to post this so i'll just put it here!

Right... i am in the process of setting up a site for a company. They have asked me to set up there email address.

Here is what i have done so far, i have set up the emails to be forwarded from the akward webmail [email protected] to [email protected] as they requested.

What i would like to do is make it so if they replied from [email protected] it would automatically forward onto the original sender that sent the email to [email protected].

This would save them the process of logging on to some long winded webmail program.

Can anyone recommend any ways to do this?

Thanks,

Dave

Isn't this normally done automatically? When I set up forwarding, I can easily reply to the emails without having to find out the original sender at first. :)

I can't test it at the moment so i just want to clarify what i mean and if thats what you meant then great! :S

Right say if i used my domain email address [email protected] which i set up via online control panel... used in hosting. And i set up a forwarding rule, which says that all messages will be forwarded to my personal email address [email protected].

If i got a message from [email protected] to [email protected].
This is forwarded to [email protected].
If i simply hit reply from [email protected] and replied would it go to back to [email protected] or would it go straight back to [email protected].

If it wouldn't go back to [email protected] is there any way for me to do this?

Man i even confuse myself sometimes! Thanks for the help more is appreciated :tu:

This far, i have not found any way to send the mail as "[email protected]" except from the webmail. :)

well, some email providers provide email from a specific address.
Like Gmail and Live mail(hotmail) in as much as I know!
I worked with Gmail one.
you add the email address, the email provider sends a code to that email address, and you enter that code, and then you can send email from your gmail or hotmail from the address of your website email you want

I've set up a lot of email forwarders in cpanel. It's never changed the "from" address for me. It's not like pressing "forward" in outlook. The from should still be the original senders address.

So:
[email protected] sends an email to me at [email protected]
The email is forwarded to [email protected]
In gmail i setup an identity for "[email protected]"
I get the email
I press reply
I select "[email protected]" as the identity to use
The "to" address is the original sender: [email protected]

I actually got sick of gmails "label" system and ended up installing roundcube webmail. You could set it up so that your client can access their email at something like webmail.domain.com or www.domain.com/webmail
