Great arb story

Great story and interesting since I'm a Canuck.

It looks like they went overboard in the type of sites that they created (ie pue arb websites) but they made bank when they could.

Thanks for the link.

Good article. I've heard of several others that were making over 1m a month with arbitrage.

I guess I shouldn't have been so lazy and got on board..

Thanks for the interesting article. It shows how profitable search arbitrage is/has been to some, many still use these methods to make a living. It also shows how quickly things can end when messing with Google.

Yes, it also could show that in this industry THINGS CHANGE QUICKLY.

Yet some people won`t evolve and wait those names with 10,000+ Overture with extension... :'(

^^ In 2006 there was a backer that hired a really good drop catcher to catch every half way decent .info. I wonder if these guy's were the backers trying desperately to get some natural traffic to make up for the arbitrage loss.

The firm's founder was left with a few assetts of little value such as the domain names hockey.com and golfcourses.com.

I wonder if the Finiancial Post has any idea how valuable those "small" assets are?

Interesting. And to me, it shows the herd mentality of novice 'surfers'. They just float along from bright colored ad to the next. There's money to be made here as long as 'they' exist. Good news for us herders.

I should elaborate. In the US, people are brainwashed to watch commercials. Watching sports on TV, I'm trying, with friends, to watch a game. I can't hear because everybody is yakking. Game breaks to a commercial, I turn to talk and everybody has shut up to see the commercial! And say sssshhhh! when I speak.

Let's face it. If there was something important to show, air, or discuss, it would be on the news, not a commercial!

I might be the last normal person in the USA. :tri:

what's the lesson here?

1. don't put all your eggs in one basket
2. save some money for rainy days when you can
3. make money while you can
4. fail, dust off, and try again and again!

life is short so live it!
