Hello everyone,

I’m a beginner in the domain industry and would really appreciate your help in evaluating the price of my domain. The domain is "slimwaynow.com" and I’m looking for a general market value estimate. Here are the details:

  • Domain Expiry Date: December 20, 2025
  • Renewal Cost: $12 USD
  • Domain Authority (DA): 9
  • Page Authority (PA): 40
  • Backlinks: 440 backlinks
  • Spam Score: 0 (No spam issues)
  • Domain Age: 40 days
  • Moz Trust: 4
  • Semrush Authority Score: 2
Could anyone provide a rough estimate of the domain’s value? Thank you in advance for your help!

Thank you, I’m a beginner in this field and I purchased this domain, and I want to benefit from it and learn
Did you go and drive a car before you learned how to drive one?
Did you try to make some dish without learning how to cook it, or even reading a recipie?
Did you start a business without knowing anything about the business?
Did you go shopping for someone without asking them what they needed?

If not, then why spend money on something you don't know anything about yet?

If you haven't bought any other domains, then consider yourself lucky that your loss for this foray into domain names is the cost of your registration, plus anything else you bought at the time. Other people have lost a lot more than you have, because they spent money because of some fantasy they had in their mind, before they understood what they were doing.

Educate yourself in what you want to invest in. Read, read, read about what the people who have come before you have done in this field, find out what works and what doesn' work.

Read the beginner resources guide
https://www.namepros.com/forums/domain-beginners.25/

Don't listen to anyone or anything that says "this is the next big thing", "this is exploding...", "this is going to make lots of money", "get into this fast or you'll miss the chance".
Such things are appealing to people who have no idea/not much idea about reality, business and human behavior.

Also, stick to .com names and nothing else. Everything else, no matter how cheap it is, is either junk or high risk.

When you think you have a name that you think you want to register, stop. Ask yourself, if I was the buyer, why would I wanto to buy this domain name? Once you put your mind into the mind of a buyer, you will probably think of things more critically and logically, because you are going to spend money on something. Also, ask yourself "Is it really as good as I think it is?" Are there any other similar names around, perhaps with operational websites?
Leave it for a day or so and then come back to the name and see how you feel then. Say the name out loud. Does is still sound good? Does it pass the radio test?

Lastly, domain names are in a long term availability decline and approximately 99.5% of names that people will want and which are therefore valuable, are all taken.
So you are fighting to become a domain owner, of a small fraction of available names that may have value, along with millions of other people around the world, some of whom have been doing this for decades, plus competing against all the sophisticated tools that are available.

Domain names as investment are no longer something for the masses. Those years are long, long gone.
So you may want to look away from the extremely overcompetitive and massively overcrowded world of keywords and look at made up names, as this area still has opportunities.
This is harder because you have to become creative and come up with unique names that no-one has registered before.
One good person who you can read about in this space is Sten Lilliestrom. He has some articles on here and he also has a website selling his madeup and other domains.
