You can not reduce the bin to a bid which was already placed. Please read the rules.

This guy never reads the rules. But not as he did in his first post. That I agree. But still we worked it out as a correct purchase (eventually). He reduced the BIN in his first post, and posted the new BIN also (eventually). Which is why you see my 2 "sold at bin". Comments. 1 before he lowered the bin to $10 only after my first post, after I reminded him also, he reduced the BIN to $10. I then had to post sold at bin for the second time to be valid. Nothing wrong with this procedure. But I agree, he cannot just assign my bid to his BIN. Which is why I had to post sold at bin 2 times, because he didn't get the procedure right the first time

$11 - If the BIN is not valid

The BIN of $10 is valid, as is my sold at bin, which was posted after he changed his BIN to $10. I know the system. The OP hasn't a clue. Nothing wrong with this transaction, except for it looking clunky due to OP's ignorance of the rules.

There was a plethora of PM's between us through this process. Way too many, imho. Because of OP's ignorance of the rules

Yes, it is understandable that he didn't read the rules and you posted SOLD at bin, but His bin has been what $10? I don't see any other BIN being posted in any of the posts. And if your starting Bid is $10 then the BIN can not be reduced to the same exact amount to close the deal. It has to be clear in the thread that what was his actual bin over and above the $10 starting bid and if what is the price you said Sold at BIN. But it is not clear at all. So, according to the rules it is not Valid

His original BIN was $20. His next BIN was $11, His Final BIN was $10. You just need to look at my 2nd sold at BIN time was past his last 1st post Edit. To see there are no shenanigans here.

I actually wanted to wait for the auction to complete. But he seemed to need the money in a hurry. So we came to an arrangement which is covered in the rules. Maybe you should read them.

He did originally try to close this thread as you stated. But I informed him he could not do that, and explained to him that he need to post a new bin and change the bin in his 1st post. Which he eventually did, after much dickering by PM, and is why you see 2 sold at bins from me. Only the 2nd one made this a valid close because it was after the time he changed his BIN in his first post. The first sold at bin was before he changed his BIN and was therefore invalid.

This is going to be my last post about this. If you think the rules have been infringed, you are wrong. And you a most welcome ask Eric if there has been any infringement of the rules.

Stu,

There is no need or call for an attack to tell me I am wrong or not. I am clearly and simply stating what I see in the thread. I did not see his posted BIN of $11, and what I see is clearly $10, and according to what I see above I posted my comments regarding this situation. If there was an arrangement then a correct BIN price should be clearly stated in the thread, including the higher bin he posted earlier to which you posted SOLD. What I see above only indicates that there were no arrangement made, and no one else had any chance to make a bid and the seller lowered the BIN to the original bid price for whatever reason (according you he needed money).

Maybe you should read the rules AGAIN. Bin can not be lowered to the last Bid just to close the auction. And that is all I see above. I don't see a higher bin posted earlier and I don't see you posted SOLD to that BIN. All I see is $10 starting bid and Bin lowered to $10 and you posted SOLD.

And btw my original post was a communication with the seller NOT you. You just jumped in trying to defend the whole case.

Next time don't attack people. I have had past communications with you and from my experience I do not LIKE neither do I appreciate the tone in your messages so here is what I will suggest.

Get off NP, walk to a Barnes and Nobles and buy yourself " How to win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie", because I can clearly see that the way you communicate your messages, you definitely need to read that book over and over again.

I am done here. Good Luck with the domain.

You cannot even read the title of the thread where where it says BIN $20. AND not even reading (or understanding) what I've said in my post above. I have never attacked you above. Everything is explained in my post above. No need for any further explanation.

Rule quote:
6.2.4. A Buy-It-Now ("BIN") price may be changed (added, reduced, increased, or removed) on an auction prior to it being accepted. However, the change must be posted to the thread as a new reply as well as updated in the original post before it can be accepted. The BIN price in an auction must be publicly accepted by a buyer; a BIN is not automatically accepted by lowering it to the highest bid in an auction.
As seen above, a bin may be updated to the highest bid, however it is not automatic that the high bidder wins. They would still be required to post "SOLD" in the thread to claim it for that amount, which the buyer did.
