Will I have a problem if I buy the co.uk domain name of a brand (for example ford.com) and open a forum site?

ford.co.uk : a forum about Ford brand cars

It can be claimed as fair use... but better avoid it. You can alternatively opt for some domain name with generic keywords and have sub-forums about different brands.
