Contacting owners with private domain registrations

I'm curious to know if the owner of a particular domain protected by "Domains by Proxy" is interested in selling it. I've never contacted someone who doesn't want his/her contact info public before. Has anyone had success contacting owners protecting domains with private registrations? Are they generally willing to entertain offers?

I have the same question, and I think there is no way to contact the owner if there is no website with contact method on it.

typically there is an email associated with the privacy (i.e. [email protected]) send your offer to that email address & it automatically gets forwarded verbatim to the owner (or to their domains by proxy account). People use privacy for various reasons, just because the info is private does not mean the owner is not willing to entertain offers.
best of luck

WOW! It is the 1st time I learned this! Thank you. I will test this way with my own domain.

Updated: Tested moniker's privacy service, doesn't work, i can't receive the email. Maybe some other registrar's service works?

You can always make a phone call. IMO, that is the best way to get/make a deal. Also, it is simpler than waiting days to recieve a response.

I have privacy on many of my domains, but it doesn't mean they're not for sale. I usually have a link on the parking pages for offers and I add the names to both Afternic DLS and Sedo. Maybe you should check the landing page first, then try the other two aforementioned sites for the domain that you are interested in. If they are not, you can always hire a broker. Those are some of my ideas.

I know I'm digging this topic up from a ways back but, OWNTYPE test your domain now it should forward the request to the registered email that you have on file with Moniker.
