Contacting owners by email

I've been reading in a lot of places that contacting the owner of a domain directly is the best way to get a good deal if the owner happens to be in the mood for selling/in need of cash. Is there any method through which you find out if there are any good deals to be had out there by emailing the owner? I mean, there's so many domains out there, so how do you single them out and email their respective owners??

You just have to make the first move.

Domaining is all about making moves. Email then and Say

"Hey are you interested in Selling - - - - - - - .com, I like the domain and would like to know how much you would be selling it for?" then wait on the reply.
