I just got an email from united-domains.de.
http://www.united-domains.de/com-domain/?partner=51?et_cid=40&et_lid=300

they have a special offer of 1EUR registration prices for first year.

Good if you want to register some .coms of which you're not sure how they'll perform parked... if they are no good, just drop them next year :)

Good luck on getting cheap names!

I also got that mail. But don't forget they only charge 1โ‚ฌ / ~1,37 US$ for the first year, from the second year on it's 12โ‚ฌ. So remember to transfer your domains to another registrar at least two months before the renewal date!

Also their webpage is only available in German, but I made a little tutorial how to use their user-interface. So all of you who don't speak German can profit from that offer. ;)

You can find the tutorial and additional information here:

i use their specials also occasional. but its a pain to change nameservers and to transfer domains. each time you have to fill out a fax sheet and send. but hey you get what you pay for.

I was once transferring once my .eu domain out. was very easy. just sent them a fax, thats it.

there is another issue of impartance (if they did not change it). you have to transfer the domains 2 months! before expiration or you automatically extend a contract with them for another year

OK. And what ;) few dollars doesn't change life. I'll never use companies with FISHY policy and discounts :)

FAX - looks like good oldschool communication demanded by OVH.net support employees. French fries cheap support employees at monopoly internet provider loves technology. :D

Well, I also usually register my domains elsewhere - but when simply adding a note to my calendar that automatically reminds me to transfer the domains and then sending one fax can save me 60 bucks...why not?

btw, you can download an english .pdf of the fax-form here:

DNS can be easily changed without sending them a fax...

I have had 15 names for one year with them, didn't use much of their services though. Answers to support questions were quite fast and clear.
But I can not give a thorough review...
