.COM or .US for $5 or less?

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if I can register a .COM or .US for $5 or less anywhere?
I have done quite a bit of searching, but I have had no luck

That's more than two dollars below cost now - aside from very special promotions I think those prices are a thing of the past.

You wont find any .com for $5 unless its a special promotion or a dodgy registrar. Cheapest is name.com with coupon for $6.99. Dont know about .us but I dont think you will find any for $5 neither.

Register a domain with 1and1.com for $6.99.
Then they will give $5 Off. :gl:

Stay away from any company offering .com's for $5 or less unless it is a top registrar with a special promotion. The minimal savings from the initial registration are not worth the hassle of dealing with less than desirable companies. This is especially true if you are looking to sell a name as you don't want to complicate potential sales. Stay away from 1&1 especially in those regards.

Keep your eye on these forums for Godaddy coupons,
in the past month or so they had two specials for under $5 but they didnt last long.
One was for $1.99, I caught it but missed out on the $4 deal.
They also had a free giveaway earlier in the year as some kind of nascar promotion.

On the other hand if you have your eye on a nice .com I wouldnt wait around as it could be gone at any time!

setname.net is selling .com for $4.10 if you're desperate but i would take the advice of HBK216 above. And this URL only works if you type it in without www.

stay away from registrars that offer to sell below cost. you never know how long they can last.....stick to the reputable one.
