Hello friends!

I am a newbie trying my hand on selling domain names. I have recently hand registered a few domain names and among them there is one which is 2 generic / dictionary words dot com (Word1Word2.com). I later realized that there exits a .com.au version of the same domain name. This .com.au is an established website of an Australian business.

My domain name is currently on the auction at Godaddy and I already have an offer. I seek your guidance with the following questions.
  1. Will I face difficulties selling this domain?
  2. Is it any ways a problem to sell such domain name?
  3. Shall I inform the Australian business about auction?
Thank you for the guidance

I am from australia and can say it depends on the business/idea. If the business can grow globally then yes do contact them but if it is like a geo domain most aussies are now used to seeing the .com.au and may pass on the .com but if it is a sales opportunity then why not contact them, good luck.

I see, you mean there shouldn't be anything troublesome. Thank you very much, I just drooped them an email with a link to the auction.

Thank you for wishing me luck :)
