We have received some interest in a domain of ours recently.

I guess something is going on in the alternative health industry to make this happen.

Anyway, as we are not selling anything related to this field, we are thinking of capitalising on the name and cashing in our chips so to speak.

Does anyone know how much it may be worth to the right people?

We have just put up a simple site right now to earn a bit of adsense and commissions over the years.

Anyone who bought it would obviously use it to sell some colon cleansing products etc.

In February, google says there were 823,000 searches for this Domain in the USA.

So, what do you think the domain is worth?

Like I said the the average "Exact" is 110K. There are 165K exact for Feb 09. Exact is the gauge to go by, not broad.

This domain is lying at about 30 to 40 on google for the term colon cleanse.

What do you think it would be worth if it got into the top 10 and maybe even into the top 3?

a nice .net for sure IMHO would be great for someone wanting to get into the niche & not pay the price of the .com

Honestly I am not sure how much it would be worth to someone if you got it into the top 3 or the first page. One thing I would be concerned about as a buyer is you having control over the incoming links & pulling them after I purchased it.

So personally as a buyer I would pay with only domain value in mind.

If someone is not as paranoid as me & will pay for the ranking, I would think it would be based off of how much the domain is making daily over a period of time. Different people have their own formulas.

I think whoever purchases it would be able to rank it themselves.

It won't fetch anywhere near $10K at a public auction, but the market is big enough where you could present a compelling argument to an end user if it was on the first Google page for the term.
