Is it possible to code my own payment gate just like paypal? So that people will be able to create accounts deposit, recieve and send payments for free, and to buy things over the net?

Nothing is impossible. As a 14 year old guy, you have lots of time to try, and to learn. :imho:

You want to be an ICANN registrar, you want your own TLD and now you want to run a service like Paypal, oh and missed off the post about you wanting to take on iTunes too ;)

it is not hard, just few years of constant work and you will be readyto go.
Or you could buy ready-made script, I think they cost around $100 or something ;)

what would be the point there are hundreds of companies already offering this service? also i'd love to know how you're gonna do it for free with all the transactions you'll be paying for?

yes it is, however don't forget about the legal aspects.
coding it is "easy" putting it legal is hard work.
i don't recomend you to try it since you would need alot of $ to started it and be over 21 ( or 18 in some countries) to be able to deal with money.

I've seen loads of payment gate scripts on the net, trouble is, at the end of the day, they require you to deposit funds from another payment gate like paypal or nochex etc. And then you can't deposit into your bank account etc.

I find his aspirations very... inspiring. ;)

And to your other post Hell-Knight, don't let me stop you but as a 14 year old boy I think some of these projects are a little out of your league. :)

hell-knight,

I won't downplay your aspirations. Matter of fact, I admire them in someone your age ;) To accomplish big, you have to think big :imho: It's just that these are things that many adults in here (and we are talking people with alot of experience in the computing world and experince in life in general), would question rather it was even reasonable for most people to go after. Most of what you have asked about doing takes skills, money, technical resources, and experience way beyond most people's situations. What you have to do is look at what those that are famous for these things (like Bob Parsons of Godaddy.com for example of being a registrar), and see what "small" things they did to work their way up the ladder to end-up where they are now. You should be dreaming big (and its good you are :) ). But, to get there, you have to start out small. In the case of the type projects you are talking, generally alot smaller.

As to your own payment gateway: Learn all you can about the coding (ie: PHP for example, study the PHP Manual till you are red in the face :yell: -- or other language like CGI-Perl/ect.). Work-out the coding, and get advice from folks on how to make the service unique compared to what the others are currently offering. That way, by the time you are old enough to legally do something like this, you are ready to hit the market with the next big thing that may replace a few of the big boys now in the game.

To other posters:

Were would most of us be today, had we thought that way at his age and persued it? ;)

Anger, in the end, gets you nowhere fast (Ancient wisdom...I am ancient). I know others mentioned your age being 14 (yes, advise you change or that will continue). I did mention your age, but with reason. Even at 19, you legally can't get into agreements and contracts in most countries (atleast not contracts doing the things you mentioned). And, besides that, it is still young (a good thing). You have time....If only you'll loss the anger, that time can be a time of learning so you can expand on those ideas of yours.

Just things :imho:

Well in Romania legal age is 18, so after 18 you can legaly do this things (except politics, that`s 21 and 31)
