Sold aot.co for $2000 via godaddy. That 30pc commission really hurts.

Nice sale. Indeed.com Job listing site was recently sold to Japanese HR company. Did you know who the buyer was?

The buyer was from the UK - they have already put a site on and branded it :) Looks great developed - I was never going to sell the domain, but I much rather see it developed than sitting on a parked page - and it would take me a few more years before I developed it - win win for all parties involved as well as the .co extension :)

Great sale :bingo:

Why don't you report the sale to Ron Jackson so that it gets featured on DNJ?

Keith

I was looking at .co sales thread ( new posts ) and i've noticed you bought Avocado dot co , what ?

Surprise, surprise...

Avocado sold for $500. Not bad for a $40 purchase here at NP 2 months ago :imho:

FYI, the .com bought it for defensive purposes. Not sure what that says for .co :|

It is amusing how you and others here put it:

- Case A: .com is developed and the .co is available -> .co is so crappy that nobody wants it, including the .com owner for defensive purposes.

- Case B: .com is developed and the .co is bought by .com owner -> .co is a crappy cybersquatting extension so the .com owner took it for defensive purposes.

I'll tell you his words and then you decide why the .com bought it :)

"We can only offer you $500 for avocado.co. Who knows how many more of these URL endings will come out."

It was simply a classic negotiation tactic to discourage you as a seller to raise the price beyond $500 ;)

No.

Actually, I contacted them in an attempt to sell the domain. They weren't looking for me and my .co :O

Do you ask yourself any questions when you make sales like this or is it all just justified profit? I'm not here to judge - I'm just genuinely curious as to how people think.

I made a similar sale and I didn't like it. I only sold it for $200 more or less as a "finders fee".. the company is one of the fastest growing digital companies in India so I shouldn't care but I felt dirty :)

I bought the domain for the same reason I bought my other .co...because it was a product. I would never buy a domain with the thought of holding it hostage from an established business.

For this domain in particular, I contacted about 20 potential endusers. This time it just happened to be the .com that responded with an offer :)

Unless a mind blowing .co became available, I would not purchase another!

Thanks. Perhaps i need to see a shrink..

With a product and wide net it does not sound wrong at all.

I guess I just dont want other people to be encouraged to buy names to hold companies hostage and this is how your original post appeared.

You seem like a decent chap and I knew I could ask publicly without starting a huge imbroglio....

LLL.co is rocking. Averaging about $1800 a sale.

AFF.co sold for $7000 according to Sedo.

Wow, is that for real as an average?

Wow, is that for real as an average?

It might be the average of the handful that sell, on major venues, to mainly end users.

But there is no shortage of high quality LLL.co on forums and auction venues than can be had for under $100 easily.
