A nice sale but once again the exception rather than the rule. These are once in a long while sales. That's about it.

Better rarely than never.

Better rarely than never.

Not if your investing and unable to find end-users. Most domainers will not go looking for end-users.

Agree, if you're investing you should know that you need to keep the domain 5-10 years before you can see profit.

Or drop it.

That is the case if there is demand.

In general, secondary extensions have not performed much better as time goes on.

The waiting game will only work with quality domains. Otherwise an asset can turn into a liability.

I wonder who picked it up!
the .com is for dick's sporting goods

It's forwarding to a company called Card Marketing International based in New Zealand. The WhoIS shows that someone connected with that same company has it.

Somebody must have made a nice flip, because it was listed in a sales thread on Namepros for $75 in Oct. 2011, along with a bunch of other LLL.

Very nice sale!

Hi, I think you guys & gals need some .CO renewal codes these days. Here are some which I found as best

gdx624k = 32% Off
gdx713d = 32% Off
gdx347de = 35% Off

Note: Credit goes to original poster on Godaddy Coupon Thread :)

..."and quality extensions". ((:ghost:))

The waiting game will not work with this ccTLD. Will there be exceptions? Yes. But VERY, VERY few.

The best bet that anyone could do reading this text would be to purge your account of all .CO's to prevent renewal fees from increasing your losses. At a minimum, make sure autorenew is "OFF". A few years ago, a very successful domainer stated something like this, "if you're not making money now, what will magically change in the future to bring you profit?".

If you're flipping fine, but please don't expect .CO valuations to rise over the long-term because that will not happen. IMHO

Namaste!

How did the offer come about? Did they email you or you them? IMO, with a $300 offer I would counter at $1500 to $3000, which is a fair price for both sides if they contacted you and see how they respond to that. Good luck with it!

If its another domainer then you may be able to squeeze out a few extra hundred - If is an end user, then I agree with the others - counter at 1.5K or even take it to 3K

I was contacted by a domainer a few weeks ago with a low xxx offer and sold it for high xxx

No, do not sell. Do as micro says. Allow it to drop. :laugh:
Sooner or later, even the hardliners come around to reality. :]

Of course renewals are strong. But this is due to basic attachment/lottery psychology that registrars use when creating their models.

Another factor that plays into the registrars favor is fear based. The user is afraid that if they drop a domain, someone else will register it and make money. This would make them feel bad. The owner would rather lose money in renewals rather than take the chance that someone else might benefit.

These factors create a massive renewal loop in the system. However, strong renewals are not good for domain resellers, they are only good for registries/registrars.

The vast majority of people reading this (and perhaps humanity as a whole) may in fact benefit with total group abandonment of this extension. Releasing these domains back into the wild would in fact give to the greater whole and reduce overall system entropy. IMHO

Yup, renew it all and hunt down the end user.
