Does anyone own really good domains with other groups of people?
Like let's say 20 people all pitch in the same amount of money to buy & develop Mouse.com(just an example) into a lucrative business. Then you all can reap the awards with a fair amount of pay spread equally between each other, and keeping another bucket of money aside to put back into the business until it's making millions. Is there a website dedicated to co-op buying of domains? or a group perhaps who does this? I know theres firm's who buy domains, and companies,(but usually the president of the company is the only owner) but is there other groups of people who do this? I think it's a great idea.

There are several groups like this already in existence. One of them purchased Cowboys.com although they seem to have dropped the ball on developing it.

Its one thing for a group of people to co own a domain, to run a business is a little more difficult. If 20 people buy a $10,000 domain and then look to build a business, who is running the show ? Ownership is equal but someone needs to be the CEO and someone needs to be handling advertising, marketing, back office etc... So with all that it may be hard to get everyone on the same page. Especially if all 20 do not personally know one another and first met on the domain purchase. Again IMO

I think the potential problems increase as the power of the number of people in the group. In other words a three member group will cube the number of potential problems. The problems quickly outweigh any possible benefits.
