Would love your thoughts on this one.....
CloudOnline dot com
CloudOnline dot com

Cash and money are the same thing. Not Cloud and Online. "Cloud" computing is happening "Online" As words, they are two completely different things, although related.
I'm thinking, someone in the Cloud Industry who can't afford to spend a million dollars for a domain (like Cloud.com), should be happy with Cloud Online dot com for about 10 Grand :bingo:
Where else would cloud computing be done if not online?
Just because two keywords in a domain make it an obvious phrase, doesn't make the domain bad. It's perfectly fine IMHO
Doesn't make it good either.
No reasoning?
A buyer who sees it's true potential will pay for what it's worth. End of story![]()
I just gave you my reasoning. And, of course, a buyer who sees potential will, at least, offer what he or she thinks it's worth.
It's just not going to be a lot.
PS. I also checked out the websites for the other "cloudonline" extensions. None were developed and most were for sale. I think that's pretty telling right there.
photonmymind, Im not going to get into this with you again mate, so here is my reasoning
With this type of name, its nothing to do with searches per month, CPC, previous sales etc etc...its about a good company name and thats it
There oly 2 orders these words can be in, and this is the best of the 2
I think that Cloud Online (dot) com has a reputation for itself. Look at the words.
Like Giles said, there's nothing to do with searches for this one. An online Cloud based company should only be proud to call themselves "Cloud Online", I don't see anything wrong there, considering the fact that some companies use the most bizarre combinations of words you could ever imagine. Example: GoDaddy, Facebook.
Moreover, cloudonline is taken in almost all major extensions - there's a reason why people reg'd this domain in many extensions.
I know Giles is the cloud man on NP but that doesn't change my view..call me thick if you like.
My partner explained me that the order of the words it's the right one so I am taking it back but I still think this name it's not worthy the amount it has been appraised for.
These are my reasons :
1) It is not unique enough to be called a brandable as NO COMPANIES would call themselves " Cloud Online ". This is shown by the fact that yes, many extensions are take, but NONE of them is developed. If you google " cloud online " there isn't any domain with online associated to the word cloud for at least 3 pages ( I didn't check any further...) If you google " cloud " there are no domains with the word online in it for the first 5 pages ( didn't check any further.. ) Cloud computing is not a future trend anymore as it's vastly used already so, if that was a great name for a company, you would expect it to be developed. This is a name that is interesting for domainers but not for end users ( so far at least ) so it will probably be bought by another domainer.
2) It doesn't have enough searches to be called an EMD and to be given the above appraisals. This is what I call a " half-way" name because it's not a brandable nor a EMD; names like this one are suitable for review or info websites.
3) Cloud IS online so, even if the order of the words is correct, it's redundant and cacophonous.
So he will probably find a buyer for that price as we all know that fools' mother is always pregnant but that doesn't mean it reflects the intrinsic and real value of the name. All of us can have a fluke and be overpayed for a name. ( see cornerstonehouses sold for 250.000...)
Sometimes I have the idea that the appraisals here on NP are more related to WHO owns the name rather than to the name itself. Beside this, do you guys really think someone like Federer put this on for appraisal because he doesn't know the value of the name? Come on... This is a commercial move to check if there was anyone biting..
I know Giles is the cloud man on NP

31 pages for word+"online" on Namebio vs 25 for "online"+word
..however the latter type has more 10K+ sales
It will sell for whatever a motivated buyer will pay for the name.
It is a nice standalone .COM brand and is very easy to recall on a worldwide scale.
I think I should hold out for at least mid $x,xxx based on past/current Cloud-orientated domain sales.

i agree with low $xx,xxx estimations - $10-20K looks very realistic and fairly adequate to me

Imagine how rich we would all be if we can register a domain now and then turn it around to sell it for $millions. Unfortunately it don't work like that anymore.
- especially with the release of over 700 new extensions this domain is not that valuable.
Hi worldexchange, these will have no affect at all, they bring out new extensions all the time and they all die a very quick death
That's where you're wrong. It will cause those who're with ASUPERLONGDOMAIN.COM to get something a little more small. Let's say long.food or long.web this will cause a reasonable percentage of individuals to stray away from dot com and we don't want that. Currently dot com rains supreme running over 50% of websites... then there's dot net and dot org. This will continue to take small percentages away from dot com. They will not die off anytime soon. It's still new. The only thing that dot com has on their side is reliability to the customer and top notch search engine preference and priority. What's also good about dot com is by default you'll have first dibbs on another other extension (If you have the dot com) and of course in some web browsers if you type in something by default it will automatically go to dot com

Based off what? If that's the case then pay him $XX,XXX for it... where are you getting this evaluation. There's no way this guy will EVER get over $500 for this domain -- especially with the release of over 700 new extensions this domain is not that valuable. What's with some of you putting these random unrealistic figures on domains. Imagine how rich we would all be if we can register a domain now and then turn it around to sell it for $millions. Unfortunately it don't work like that anymore. We missed our chance in the early 1990's. Most of you were probably babies![]()
