Offer rec'd, much lower than I hoped - $200 - a domainer I think (maybe trying to buy up a lot of "cloud names?).

Thoughts?

Thanks!

What is "cloud based security"?
I'd take the $200 and run lik hell.

358,000 Google for Cloud based security

Verizon, Novell, Mcafee, Symantec, Cisco, AT&T...

e.g. Verizon recent release:

Verizon Business Introduces New Model for Cloud-Based Security
By David Hamilton, May 11, 2010

Offering enterprises the ability to quickly and easily add robust security services with just the click of a mouse, Verizon Business (Home - Verizon Business) has unveiled a new global, cloud-based security-as-a-service portfolio that helps organizations avoid purchasing expensive equipment.

According to its Tuesday announcement, the new portfolio is not dependent on premises-based equipment, unlike many other managed security services. Instead, Verizon's offering is delivered using its global IP network, letting customers quickly and easily secure new locations with the latest security technology by using a centralized management console that allows for real-time provisioning and administration.

"Our new security platform represents a significant shift in how we are delivering security services to large and mid-size clients," Verizon Business technology and innovation vice president Peter Tippett said in a statement. "By offering security-as-a-service, enterprises can tailor their security solutions to meet the unique needs of their business with the ability to strengthen their security protection at a moment's notice."

Next month, Verizon public IP and private IP customers with Secure Gateway will be able to use cloud-based managed security services for anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-malware and URL filtering services. These "clean pipe" services will be integrated into Verizon's networking offerings at no extra charge to customers.

I own a bunch of cloud related domains and the market for them has not really taken off with the hype. I think we are a few years away. That being said, the search volume for your domain is non-existant and the CPC is .05 so I think $200 would be ok.

You should certainly counter with a reasonable number and can probably negotiate to a higher price.

Thanks stingrae. Always good to hear from someone who has some expertise (or at least looked up the term before posting). I agree with your valuation for those reasons - I will probably either counter with $400 or walk.

The ad support seems to have picked up for this name, and $2-300 will not do more than pay for one book next year in my grad class. Maybe I should take a chance and hold.

Thanks again!
