comps:

kihy.com sold for 800$ flippa
gihy.com for $445 at sedo

It seems like "y" in the end does not get any love at all, because price benchmarking venues like NameBio don't include "y" AT ALL in their CVCV.

This just adds to the point I made in my thread that CVCV value is more about the hype than some exceptional pronounceability, because tehy is definititely easier to pronounce than foqe...

It's worth around $800.

Thank you all for your opinions. Actually I also don't consider it as a CVCV ( I wish, lol), I bought it because of its pronounceablity and just liked it :)

BTW @TERADOMAIN sorry for your situation.

No Problem at all my friend. I just try my best to follow all rules and regulation of different platform. So I was waiting for my dispute to be close on Flippa. But no worries there is always a good opportunity here and there. Good luck. Estibot is $13000 and Very high EMS for the name. Keep it for long term for good profit. Godaddy does consider "Y" as vowel.

If the sale day 1/15/16 is correct for 450 then it cant be worth 1k-1.5k ,I value it at 550-600 ,anyone want to buy a similar one ill dump it for 800 ,Things just dont get out of wack that much, its like saying a .com{chip} this just sold on flippa for 650 ,Just dont happen too many eyes watching TOOOOOO LIQUID , This is all my opinion
it happens sometimes you get great deals on flippa because people accept lower offers, or put a low price. It wasn't an auction I presume, an open auction would definately fetch a lot more. But you can negotiate privately on flippa with the seller and get a good deal sometimes.

Sorry but how is y a vowel? This domain is cvcc.
Yeah I was a bit confused about the whole CVCV thing too. I was of the understanding that C=consonant and V=vowel in which case the said domain is as you say a CVCC. AEIOU are vowels and nothing else. CVCV are worth more as most of that combination are pronounceable. Some Consonants don't fit that description as they are not pronounceable in that pattern making them less desirable but that doesn't make them a vowel. For example Y J X and W can be hard to work. That's what I always understood it as anyway.
Is MANY.com a CVCC? Or Pony.com?
So by the above rule I would say they are both CVCC yes.

So the rule above is wrong, because Consonant/Vowel is based on how you PRONOUNCE it, I don't expect you pronounce "many" as "man y"

I know what your saying. The Y is pronounced as EE or E (a vowel) but I'm saying strictly speaking, a Y is always a consonant no matter how it's pronounced. But I know what your saying.

  1. 1.
a basic speech sound in which the breath is at least partly obstructed and which can be combined with a vowel to form a syllable.
Y in the end is not obstructed at all, so no, that is absolutely wrong!

And here is definition from M-W:

1

: a speech sound (such as /p/, /d/, or /s/) that is made by partly or completely stopping the flow of air breathed out from the mouth
2

: a letter that represents a consonant
especially : any letter of the English alphabet except a, e, i, o, u, and sometimes y โ€” compare vowel

Yes but look at this case here ,for some reason the flippa deal never happened and then it ended up selling at ebay for 500 anyway ,flippa is losing its place in domaining because of this stupid reserve, liquid names do not need reserves ,id rather start the domain 5% below intrinsic value(floor price) so you know you wil have at least 1 bid ,the only advantage to starting at 1 dollar is to get more emails sent back to bidders ,but those guys that bid up to 1700 for a chinese chip are not gonna pay the foor anyway ,so who the hell wants them anyway.
