had an offer for this name, just wondering on what would be a decent figure.
I know to an end user it could be priceless but what sort of figure should i be looking at

That's a decent offer. Unless you have plans for it why don't you sell it?

just make a counter offer thn, but there are many similar names going for less, $150 sounds like a great deal ;)

$150? Pass. You've got to think, why would this person want this random 5L.com? A domainer wouldn't pay too much for it, so I'd say the chances are this person has the name in mind as a potential brand name for a new startup. The double o's make the name flow and sort of symmetric when you say it... "Clo Mo" Easy to advertise and easy to brand, so unless you're hurting for money, counter back with a hefty offer and enjoy the $$$$.

I would personally pass on this offer, I'd think its worth lot more to a potential end user.

How did the offer come to you? Via the parked page or email to the whois contact? Do you have anything to research on with who might be making the offer? 150 on a 4 day old brandable, not that shabby of an offer IMO.

its just a private hotmail address so not much, done a search on the guys name but nothing shows up.

I love the name and think it could be worth a lot more, very brandable IMO - just rolls of the tongue

It's a nice start.. I would certainly counter offer but how much depends on what it is worth to you. If you just registered it, making over $100 on it right away is a good sale. Chances are an interested party may not come around for this domain for some years, IMO. Try to get an idea of how badly they want this domain.. Instead of giving them an exact dollar amount maybe give them a range you are looking for. Like, "I am only considering $xxxx offers only please" or something like that.. Good Luck and nice registration. :tu:

do a google search on just the first part of the email address without the email extension i.e. "user name" @hotmail.com. Many times the person will use the same "user name" for multiple sites. I had an offer come in via a parked page, with a little research (the tactic above) I was able to track down all this info on him: age, city he lived in, marital status, number of children, hobbies, where he worked etc. (all free via google searches) Never ended up in a sale but I knew everything (nearly) about the potential buyer which goes a long way in being able to negotiate a good deal.
best of luck

Pretty decent offer worth taking up unless you've got personal plans for this name, but still push for mid $xxx.

I would probably counter with around the $500 - $600 & settle in between.

Cheers everyone - I thought around the $500 mark would be a good call
