domain Click to Donate.org opinions please

Started to develope ClicktoDonate.org and wondering what value this could reach. Much more work to do on it. Any opinions on value would be appreciated. Thank You

I find it rather amusing that a site dedicated to charitable causes is plastered with adsense ads.

Charitable organisations have their own web-sites with a click to donate button / link on them, which rather negates the need for your domain name.

Also the domain name could be a nightmare in the wrong hands

I agree with the ad sense ads but I like the idea of the site, idd have the say reg fee undeveloped though and agree with exsedo.

I hope you carry on with developing it, as i said its a nice idea.

Its called donation affiliate programs. Simple concept really. The domain name explains exactly what to do on the website. I think your opinions above did not come with much thought. The site has been active for a very short time and has already generated more income then went into it. I never stated it was nonprofit.

Looks like you thought it out, not sure why you asked for our opinions if you disregard them. clickanddonate.org is available to register hence the reg fee undeveloped.

It was just an example of the top of my head, and I wasn't shouting.

This whole thread you created is about our opinions, as said in the title, so sorry if you dont like mine or exsedo's.

All I asked for was opinions on potential value from development and all I got from the opinions was reg fee answers regarding the name itself. I normally enjoy peoples opinions on namepros because many have great insight and ideas to help.

The domain name has no real intrinsic value, as there is no focus.

What are people donating to on any given day they might visit it, pandas? save the children? your right to buy online porn?

Being a charity is all very well, getting running costs is all very well and most do it, but who benefits from the donations that you get given and traffic visiting your site?

Why should people go to your site rather than direct to their chosen charity?

All the above are questions that someone would need to ask but the most important is the last one...why is anyone going to go to your site?

$50 at most I think for the domain name but probably more like zero, it is nothing special but it still has a reasonable search count and the extension fits in. There are many other domains out there that could be used and that would be cheaper than paying you a fee for what would be a legitimate site to help charities rather than one made to simply leech from them.

By the way, this is not the subforum for appraisal full developed sites, but the potential value of the domain name only...

No I'm not rude to people I meet. The site is just a web portal for donations. The site allows everyday web surfers a quick way to donate to kids in Haiti, had no idea people were so oppositional to advertising for donations.

As has already been said, the appraisal thread is for domain name values, if you wanted your development work appraising, take it to the appropriate thread.
The .org extension is renowned for non-profit sites and
yours is an MFA site disguised as a good cause to earn you money.
As it stands, it doesn't fit well :imhoand that is what you asked for)

I stick by my reg fee appraisal, no matter how much you have earned with it.

I for one understand exactly what the owner is wanting to do here. You are very wrong in saying it has no value, that is way off base. I would say it has low value, below $ 500. US as it stands.

Unfortunately, when we do not understand how something works, we as humans sometimes say the wrong things. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion obviously and everyone understands unique markets.

I am involved in a great deal of fundraising for local charities and not everyone has a website and not all of them collect money online.

Lastly, if you provide a fundraising service ( legal-licensed ) you should earn money for what you do and that is the way it truly works.

But he is not collecting for local charities with no website, he is redirecting people from his site while collecting adsense hits at the same time to currently one of the biggest in the world.

I don't know the legal implications but if I was the boss I might be pissed at someone claiming they are collecting for me when they are doing nothing of the sort, but simply using my official charity brand to collect money for their own pockets.

Charities have registered numbers, that is so that they are regulated and those that have a number can be verified...

no, you are wrong sparhawke, I am an approved affiliate with Save the Children. I get paid for donations. Its that simple. I dont know if you know anything about affiliate programs, but its called LinkShare.com

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but this is not my idea of a charity.
Not only are you earning from adsense, now you say you are getting a cut from the donations.
A relative of mine has been doing charitable work for donkeys years, raising money for a good cause. What is her cut ? £0, nothing, zero.
She even pays her own travel expenses, and works two full days a week absolutely free.
Thats what I call charity.

I can sign up for any run of the mill product/service affiliate program and profit from my promotional efforts. Donations need the service of finding donors. Donations take promotions. Promotions cost money. period.

All you should be asking for is an appraisal, since this is the appraisal forum, and not discussion forum or website development
