cleaning up "new posts"

i've noticed that some forums (np$ sales and auctions) don't show up at all when clicking "new posts", while others most others (including welcome/spam center) do. it would be nice to remove the whole welcome center from the "new posts" section, as they are inherently new anyway. it's also a pain to see more than half of a "new posts" page filled with welcome center messages from one user.

this is probably even more work, but it would be even better if each person can customize which forums they want to show up in "new posts" so we can take out .cctld forums and whatnot as we see fit.

I see both sides but still think its because we are so welcoming here that makes this site so nice

it seems there won't be any moderation of the welcome center any time soon, but it would be nice if i could at least filter those out of the results for "new posts", as well as include np$ forums in, and perhaps some other customization as well.
