It was registered at this fee 1 week ago. 100% Premium from Registry.
I hope, registrant is aware that such fees in .tech are billed yearly.

.tech does a good job of assigning premiums, and blocks.

I think you are not correct.

This domain seems to have only small premium yearly renewal attached to it, approx $41.

so it was a registry sale?

I do not know and personally I do not care ... name as a name, imo :)

It simply brings more sale comparables for other new gTLD names, which is good for those who invested in them.

Premium domains in .tech are billed yearly.
No any standard renewals there.

This domain is 100% Premium.
And Sedo was used just as adpartner to register it.

For example, check clouds.tech at Dynadot - and you will see the discounted price of ~$3K per 1st year, then ~$6K renewal.

Jurgen, I am not saying there is a standard renewal, I said there seems to be a small premium yearly renewal attached to it. Let's do it together, to see why:

1. First, check domain name clean / tech at mrdomain.com (which is from my experience accurate at 99%, when it comes to premium renewal checks) - what do we see?

Small Premium Renewal attached to the name, 41,95 euro

2. Second, to double check: go to namesilo.com, and start transfer there (leave authcode blank) and do NOT finish the transaction. What do we see

Again, small Premium Renewal attached to the name, 41,30 usd

So, this is just a very quick check which is usually very accurate and enough for me - I do not have time to give here a complete guide how to check premium renewals of new gTLD domain name (but it was fully discussed here at Namepros already for several times) :)

NameSilo shows the incorrect regfees for Premium domains, well-known fact. Didn't try them to transfer.
From my experience: Dynadot, Porkbun and Name.com are reliable.

I have a .tech and it's
£54.00 renewal (ouch)
Not sure how much that is in dollars though

I already understand: how it was purchased...

Check as example clouds.tech at Sedo - and you will get it in MakeOffer mode...

So $30K was offered at Sedo...
And then Registry reassigned their renewal fee to the lowest level.

When you pay $30k for a domain,
Obviously the renewal will be scaled back.

I am sure they would be happy to sell it for $1k, with an annual $3k renewal, one way or another the registry is going to get paid.

Radix doesn’t offer up to many freebies, they really blanket the terms really good.
