ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- Cingular Wireless has made a deal with MySpace that will allow MySpace users to access their profiles through Cingular phones.

Under the agreement, cell phone users will be able to go to their MySpace page to edit it, post photos and get messages. For example, a MySpace users could take a picture with their cell phones and then post the image to their Web page.

Atlanta-based Cingular says the new MySpace Mobile application will cost two dollars and 99 cents a month plus charges for data usage.

The deal also expands Cingular's work with MySpace, which includes letting bands use a service called MySpace Mobile Music to create ringtones.

MySpace, a popular social networking Web site, already has a deal with Helio -- a cell phone venture of South Korea's S-K Telecom and EarthLink.

Thats what I was wondering, if myspace uses the .mobi extension for this launch the extension will hit the general public like a tidal wave.

Well, it's not unexpected really - with your average MySpace user spending 2 hours a day working on their profile, it should come as no surprise that people will seek to unit the two things that your average geek can't live without - cell phones and MySpace.

We (.mobi owners) can only hope..

Myspace is a miles ahead of the competition regarding the issue of permeability.

That would be quite like a dream coming true for many of us...

Anyway, what a clever move from Cingular!
