I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.

Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic, I myself want to understand this trend too. Is there any real meaning behind each domain name sold in China? Here, I'd like to share with you what I've found as I read the Chinese news everyday.

GZX.com
GZX can stand for 更自信 (even more self-confident) which can be used in many fields such as education, self-help, and even consumer products to raise your self image.

XLY.com
XLY can stand for 夏令营 (summer camp) or 新领域 (new field) which can be used in recreation and high-tech products.

Chinese Domain News

.top website development. Vinus developed Vinus.top for the Chinese market, but Vinus.cn is owned by someone else and not resolve. Why didn't they try to buy Vinus.cn? >>

.vip sites spotted: Clud.vip (music fan club for teens) and Exofanclub.vip (fan club of Korean pop group). >>

VS.com recently developed into website by startup Ying Tou (盈透). The company offers technology products. However, domain name does not match company name. Research gave no hint on naming logic. >>

English words used in Chinese domain name. Mailchat.cn recently received $450k (3m yuan) funding from angel investor to expand email services. >>

Pinyin .club sells too. Fende.club was sold on West.cn for $2,800 (18,890 yuan) on July 31 at BIN price. The domain name was registered only a day earlier. Well, almost hard to believe! Fende is 1-pin and may mean 芬德 (not likely a common phrase, meaning fragrance and goodness). >>

VN.cn developed into virtual reality site. The domain name was rumored to have been sold for close to $1.5m (10m yuan). >>

Malingshu.com sold for $7k (48k yuan) in recent auction. MaLingShu is 3-pin and may mean 马铃薯 (potato). >>

Some investors like buying domain names as a set. Recently, investor NONO (nickname) spent high 5 figures (6-figure yuan) to acquire Niumama.com, Niumama.cn, and Niumama.com.cn together as a set. NiuMaNa is 3-pin and may mean 牛妈妈 (cow mother). >>

maybe they did try ?
Maybe they did try, as you said.

I don't see .co much in the domain news. Its advantage is being short at 2 letters, and Chinese like short domain names.

Many the Chinese, Japan and other Asian companies ending with Co, Co. Ltd etc
.Co also mean Corporation, Company, Commerce, Consulting, Cooperation etc, may be .Co is has good potential for East and West Markets and end users?

For example, .co.jp is the majority in Japan. I'm not sure if it is even possible to educate people to accept that .co is not a typo for .co.jp.

I'm sorry. I had too many PMs that I had to turn it off for the spirit of knowledge sharing in the public not private.

I got an offer too for one of my 2word brandable from a chinese broker apparently, but the mail landed on my inbox so not spam.
The fact is that it was a really strange & simple conversation

Like

- How much for xxxx ?

- $1599

- How about $1000

- Deal

- I will contact you if "my company need" (wth)

After the conversation like three weeks ago i sent one follow-up email like a week ago and it seems that it didnt read it.

Anyone something similar?

G.
