Well, I've made profit with the CHIP craze. I have moved on to End-user market where you can buy between $1 and $150 and make $2,000+. I hate buying something at $400 and wait it reaches $500. Can take months or years.. I never wanted to play the stock game. I have played the CHIP game. Was fun but time to move on to more secure investment.

The end user method is indeed a good way to go.

It is a perk that short domains have become such a liquid commodity,

There will continue to be peaks and valleys.

Being a finite asset, domains offer a unique way for people to invest.

Plus, let's congratulate the awesome reality that "inventory" doesn't take up physical storage space!

Certainly is moving up across the board again today. It is starting to become a more interesting story, seems clear the Chinese at least for now are buying up domains in bulk and prices are going up for all categories.

I had already written off my 5l.com chip investments as just one big expensive $10k mistake.

However, i'm now wondering if 4l.com chips push back over 10k RMB which at this rate could be within days, do people think there's any chance 5l.com chips have time to get fully registered and start getting backordered before they come up for renewals in September/October?

Interested in thoughts on this from holders and others.
I never thought even a week ago there would be any chance but now am getting curious if patience may pay off on these.

What do you think?

had my first offer via Godaddy auction for a 5l chip today

Had some offers on godaddy for 4l.net non chips in the last couple of days but not responding to them as want to see what happens with those as well. But 5l.com chips still do have over 4 months to go till renewals, so thinking maybe just maybe there's still enough time for them to do something, but not too sure.

i did not think i would get any offers for them in (summer) the fact 4L.net are moving up a little is a surprise to me but i did think maybe in winter we would see this.

Well 4l.net chips are up almost 50% on a month ago, non chips were low to begin with but are being bought in large volume and going up as well as are pretty much all chinese categories.

5l.com chips were considered by many to be dead or as good as but 4 months or longer till renewals is still a very long time, i'm thinking maybe demand will continue picking up before renewals. I guess the first question is will Chinese take the last 5l chips after all and then if so will they all get backordered at NJ etc.
A long way to go to see if all this can happen but I guess anything is possible.

Well, prices were fallen too much comparing the peak levels 3-4 months ago. There was need for to see bottom of the market. I think we have seen the bottom at the level of 6000 rmb for the 4L.com chips.

And there was big resistance level at 6800 rmb which is already broken.. And there is no any other resistance until 1.3W and 1.4W. I would expect solid rise since the trend is upward now.

Did you trade forex? I understand what you did with the lines, which is determining support and resistance.

Usually is it taken on a 360 day graph?

Gigantic day at the Chinese market:
2016-08-01 60922 6,879,071
2016-07-31 20700 3,291,608
2016-07-30 7004 1,083,131

2016-07-28 8533 792,066
2016-07-27 20189 3,952,761
These kind of stats we had not even witnessed at peak times. Turnover wise, first three spots were 4l.com which is up 5%, 6n.com which is up 30%, 5n.coms. Still we are very far away from the peak levels, but a week to 10 days can change everything.

Many of those large numbers are portfolio sales

If they want to buy my portfolio, they are more than welcome to. :)
The type of portfolios that are in demand are 3/4 4L chip .com/.net, and short numerics up to 5 numbers, all that 7N/8N/5L stuff that registered after the fact is pretty much on life support heading into heavy handed renewals.

Well things are looking better these last few days, all chinese niches seem to be heading back up in price. For what its worth it looks like now "twotwo" and a new person/website with the screen name "mrmaple" are bidders over at drop catch driving up prices.

Any pickup in other extensions besides com and net? Any signs of life for short .co .ws or others? Last time com and net went crazy, then other extensions followed the move up. The rising tide analogy.

Is this rise has anything to do with lucky number 8 , which is month of August, it is hard to understand by western buyer but many asian countries has certain days and people buy on that day , i can tell in india we have few days which are traditional to buy gold, may be china has tradition to invest in august, any guess?

So far market is good and who ever entering right now please do your research, 4l.com chip and non chips are still cheap if you are big investors but for small investors be ready to see some bumps ahead and good luck to all who has shown faith in chips and bought at deep of 800, best if luck to all ...

"Peak levels" here and there. Who cares?

If you own great domains,
Then, it's peak levels time, all year around.

That's the key to the domain biz. Spotting value and then selling for 20x what you paid or more.

Three years ago, I sold two hand regs for $2,000. It's still possible today.

The problem is, most people own the crappy kind, because they can't determine real value.
Learn this, and you will make money domaining.

I received few offers today for my .org chips via my sales lander. The IP was traced to China and it was a QQ email.

Did anyone receive the same?
