Is it a somewhat good estimate that
chinese LLLL.com premiums are at at least $1billion value today?
Unlike Number .coms chinese premium LLLL.com boomed in value in a very short period.
Will they hold their value or is it the biggest BUBBLE ever seen in domains?

Share your thoughts please

And what bit of history tells you what is a good sign and a bad sign? This is all completely new and you're talking what? Three weeks worth of data and sales? You're already calling that the sky is falling. If you're in it to make money in three weeks you deserve to lose money. The rest of us are in for a much longer term and we realize there will be ups and downs but feel that this time next year we will all be smiling.
Where did I say the sky was falling? I was just pointing our real data, which is valid coming first hand from the very end users considered to be pushing the 4L.com trend.

I understand you have alot invested, as do all of us, but facts, are facts, and discussing it here, does not change the overall marketplace. Namepros does not make, or break this segment.

Coming off $3K, and breaking under $2K, in a few days in any given tracking fundamental would be a weak trading signal.

A good friend of mine has been operating a business in China for the last 5 years.
The salary of an average staff is around 2500rmb to 4000rmb.
I cannot imagine them getting involved in domains costing USD$2000.
at 4000 rmb equating to $650 per month, I doubt that is the average buyer, probably more upper class, family business type money.

Thankyou for the data , finally we have a new conversation perspective with relation to 4L.com prices ..

@wwwweb I agree with your sentiments above, it's gone down a lot in recent days which is not the strongest of signs. I am extremely bullish even now but as you say the facts are the facts, no getting away from them.

I just think the correction will end soon followed by another strong wave up.
When/how much higher they go is anyone's guess, but I think it starts again soon.

BTW congrats on your sales, you timed that top just right :)

All things go up, and down, it really depends where they settle.

I agree also, I think they are just moving money around, they will let this dip, and push it higher, and make even more money on the next round. Finding the bottom, and catching it quickly will be the true test.

As long as you kept buying even in the past month, and selling out, and trading back in, you could have made a lot of money, when it moved into the $2.5K range, that is when fixed inventory got repriced, or totally removed from the marketplace. Before that, there was many domains which could be acquired pre $1K in the Chinese premium, and flipped very quickly.

100% agreed!

I think you are a little overreacting. I do not know if prices are going to drop much further (and I do not think so) but the rise has been spectacular, let the prices settle... 2K is the minmum floor for a CHIP if you ask me...

No over reaction we are just discussing a 33 percent drop in the past few days countered by a 33 percent gain in equal days.

We have the founder of 4.cn make some comments the market went flat shortly thereafter.

This is just trading strategy based on the forward potential coming out of China.

If we are not using these domains, we are essentially just all traders of them.

Having a strategy of they will just keep going up, and up, and up is just stupid.

Trading out on the dips, and selling on the buys you can trade profitably. At the end of the day if you have a domain you get stuck with at $2k that could be worth $5k to and end user well you have a bit of an out.

Yep.

For those like me that held as i'm taking longer approach, patience is a virtue IMO.
They have still more than doubled in a month.

They will go back up again soon.

If people think 4l.com chips are doing bad in recent days (and they have corrected), 4l.net chips have been getting slaughtered lately.

They are not far off 50% off the highs of some days ago and back closer to 10% of the value of .com when they were selling recently for closer to 20% of the .com.

Let's see what the rest of this week brings!

Instead, demand has decreased.

Right, that's why on top of regular gibberish spam, I started getting spam written in English, begging for LLLL.com and LLLL.net. :D

I saw a very lucky seller on NP managing to unload his 4L.net "Chinese Premium" for $1xx a piece... getting out while he can. Seems like unsuspecting buyers ended up with them.

Looks like it will tank even further.

My strategy is very simple, don't sell shit when the market is down.
Sell when it's going up, buy when it's down. Call it stupid or whatever, but pigs who don't know what they doing and buy, just because everyone was buying and selling, because price went up will always be slaughtered.

I think some of you are over reacting.
When the floor was $2k I warn many here do not enter this is big boy game and they are manipulating the market.
Who ever still has chips like me just hold it and keep patience it is not short term profit game , up and down comes you always treat this investment as side investment.
Again whole market was down 30% not only chips and yesterday less name sold but yuan volume was more that means now they will not going to buy crap and that is sign of upward trends for chips.
One extra point whenever market going little down some regular folks dumping there chips and that causing market to go down further , check on chaomi thats why current supply is more then last week , but few hundered chips , extra supply is not big fear it will going to wipe out soon and we will going to see market again.
For 3kfloor now it will going to take couple more week.
Remember once supply out from godaddy and sedo you guys will have no chart to talk here, and that same chips will never going to come back on godaddy or sedo or in western hand.

For me a slaughter is when they hold down prices for at least a year and all who bought 100's of domains cant afford to renew because on top of it all the US economy it getting pummeled at the same time and domain investors are forced to liquidate , just to eat and pay rent .....
we are not even close to that scenario,
But if that does happens, that the time when domain investors get taken down big time and its a slaughter right now its all happy time with alot of profits already had ..

There is still a huge demand for 4L.
But since last week when the slowdown started,
the buzz has moved to .cc, .cn and .com.cn.
The buzz where? In China? I'm curious where you are hearing this.
We have the founder of 4.cn make some comments the market went flat shortly thereafter.
Mr Xu's comments might have had something to do with the dip in prices. But I doubt it because 5L.coms have been getting reg'd at the rate of 60k per day for the last 10 days. No effect there. Other spaces getting eaten as well. 3L.com and 4L.com are at the center of the short domain market. But 5L.com is now fully in play and how can prices on 4L chips stay at $3000 when you can buy 5L chips for $8? $3000/20 = $150. So the market turns to 5L of course. Once all 5L chips are gone they will quickly rise in value and stop holding down 4L.com, which in turn is holding down 3L.com.

It's a spiral, an ebb and flow. This is how a market works.

Yeah, 4L.NET/ORG Chips should be at 5% of .com prices... 10% of .com is too much as it is.

Is that based historically, on Western domaining's valuation?

I wonder if China's valuation is different.

Yeah, 4L.NET/ORG Chips should be at 5% of .com prices... 10% of .com is too much as it is.

Market will decide that. For last few months it was firmly telling us 10-13% for .net, even today.
