Is it a somewhat good estimate that
chinese LLLL.com premiums are at at least $1billion value today?
Unlike Number .coms chinese premium LLLL.com boomed in value in a very short period.
Will they hold their value or is it the biggest BUBBLE ever seen in domains?

Share your thoughts please

Perhaps sell a third of them, or just a portion.

It's good for the market overall. It was going up too fast.
Investors look for strength on bounces if talking about it from an investment perspective, from
A domain perspective it could look as a pump, and dump.

From long term holders of such letters for many years, they were scratching their heads, the follow thru buying, and 4.cn words spooked the market. If the dollars indicated that are out there then should be no issue.

If those gtlds that sold for $1500 each with 4l.com pricing out of 4.cn around $1900 are in serious trouble.

Selling now would be panic selling, divide the portfolio with ones you know can mean something to
Western and Euro end users, and lock them away, the others maybe wait for $2,500 bounce, or list them
At godaddy for $2,500 for people who don't know.

If it hits 2K floor, I may sell 50% of them.

We are not sure at this stage even if there will be a $2.5K bounce.....

See how they are selling here at namepros, that will give you am indication where resellers see a bottom and at what price they would push it back higher.

Otherwise this will be a learning experience for Chinese who are in the red, and maybe looking for liquidity, and as we know domains have not been very liquid investments when cash is needed, or it could be a good buying opportunity.

If that Chinese money is out there, it should bounce back, and then they all chase it higher again.

If I were a billionaire Chinese domain investor I would totally cut off liquidity currency flow now9 maybe talk some other rich club members into the game and get those greedy domain flippers where it hurts , then right when they sell ... turn the faucet back on ....

what I see is that supply haven't increased. Instead, demand has decreased.

What was the reason of decreased demand? First of all too high price increase in short time. Smart investors stopped buying at these levels.

Also, one of the reasons is that a lot of money switched to another niches: LLLL.org, LLLLL.com. We had about 240k registrations of 5L for last 7 days. That's about 2000000$ out of old markets! 2000000/3000 = 666 chips could have been bought with these money even at 3000$ level. Do we have supply of 666 chips for week? )))

Yes. 4L chips prices have been greatly corrected. But in general chinese market shows unbelievable investments.

I don't expect new surge of price increase any soon. But I also think 2000$ will be floor with some sales slightly below. Supply simply will stop at below 2k level.

These are some of the oldest tricks in the book to try and get panic into the market to get people to sell for $400/500 under what they were at to stock up again and then when bought in up they go fast.

To that end it's working a treat as many are indeed panicking giving them what they want.
This correction will turn around soon IMO.

More likely someone is trying to spook out more supply. As long as the price was climbing people pushed their prices ahead. Less and less domains were sold. Now fear brings the supply out. I feel it too.

((edit)) posted without knowledge of Harpo's excellent post above. Prices will rise when the supply dries up.

There is still a huge demand for 4L.
But since last week when the slowdown started,
the buzz has moved to .cc, .cn and .com.cn.

Attention has indeed been on reging 5l.com chips etc. fast in recent days as some have pointed out above.
However, much of the price correction has been due to wanting more supply at lower prices which has now happened.

Prices are still up a lot from a month ago even with a week of a strong correction. Prices will go up again very soon IMO.

Hard to track new inventory, I have 10 domains locked in at $25k sold waiting for escrow closing statements as inspection period ended Saturday. That inventory never saw the light of day.

Godaddy is not the tracker of inventory.

Also I bought a domain via godaddy.com on nov 14th jjnx.com $2195, the seller huge domains refused to transfer it, godaddy said they can't make them either. Paid for, and checked out, got my refund today after godaddy would not enforce sale. Guess it sorta worked out in the end. I also bought a premium here on namepros for $1800 about 8 days ago, could have sold at $2500, was naive, today I am break even on it, after losing $700 upside.

It's a fast moving niche.

The end-user demand was always what domainers used to consider... now it is just plain gambling: e.g. members buying qxzw.com for $2.5k because it ends with "w" and Chinese apparently love em.

There is no need to defend your domains, nor is there any need to create fear (because you sold out/ or wanna buy/ can't afford).

The long-term holders who had their domains for years, like "Western Premium" combinations, abbreviations, etc etc and make sales to end-users, aren't affected.

For members (especially new and cocky ones), I would say, you shouldn't have spent the money that you actually needed. These are the ones who will panic.

Whatever happens, happens hey. :)

I don't think namepro guys were buying names above $2,500, my buyer in escrow is in HK, and owns many 3l, and 3n .com, he may not be happy today, but he is still holding millions in probably all bubble profit domains.

The one trait we all knew is that when you go to sell, that buyer who was willing to pay you more than you paid would most likely not be there.

If this is the end of the ride it was great I got rid if my q w x y z crap, and hold strong the western names with an even stronger piggy bank.

I have a feeling this story is not finished yet, money has just moved to pushing something else, there is more to it here.

I guess it's time to go sell some good ol forgotten keywords now.

What is average domain name buyer in China? It may be that 2-3k is too expensive for general public so they move to other areas as there are no stock splits in domaining.

There is no way to know who the average domain buyer in China is, could be a guy who is upgrading from collecting pokeman cards to domains, no way to know, such an obscure market in regards to collecting information.

We have sales coming out of China sub $2000?

It has failed key fundamentals of a bounce here?

bgkx.com $1,909.81 11/23/2015 4.cn
rgpj.com $1,972.27 11/23/2015 4.cn
dtqn.com $1,972.27 11/23/2015 4.cn
khtj.com $2,066.34 11/23/2015 4.cn
lpwz.com $1,986.04 11/23/2015 4.cn
nbsf.com $2,300.00 11/23/2015 Sedo
swtx.com $2,550.00 11/23/2015 Sedo
fcwt.com $2,000.00 11/23/2015 Sedo
pcgc.com $2,250.00 11/23/2015 Sedo
wjjp.com $2,345.00 11/23/2015 GoDaddy
lbjy.com $2,601.00 11/22/2015 GoDaddy

People who bought last week at down about 30 percent on their so called investments, you would assume low inventory would hold prices strong, but new inventory is selling thru at new lows. Breaking below $2,000 is not a good sign.

And what bit of history tells you what is a good sign and a bad sign? This is all completely new and you're talking what? Three weeks worth of data and sales? You're already calling that the sky is falling. If you're in it to make money in three weeks you deserve to lose money. The rest of us are in for a much longer term and we realize there will be ups and downs but feel that this time next year we will all be smiling.

A good friend of mine has been operating a business in China for the last 5 years.
The salary of an average staff is around 2500rmb to 4000rmb.
I cannot imagine them getting involved in domains costing USD$2000.
