Who says so?
The market is the market........we need buyers, sellers and speculators. We have all three, that's a market. And $2000 is the current value of that market. Your going to have to get used to it.
Yes it may fall, but it may also keep running for who knows how long? And yes it may just be a new level, again, you may just have to get used to it.
That's how it goes.......
I am not aware of any digital collectables. However, people collect all kind of junk and put some value to it. It would be perfectly normal in digital age that we get some
digital collectables. Limited domain names such as LLLL.coms or Ns.coms would be best choice.
People collect postage stamps. They don't have ANY intrinsic value. On the other side, you can always use domain name as an address of your website so it could have at least one more usage beside to look at it.
I found this: "For example, one of the mostly widely used stamps of its time, the 1861 issue of a 1 cent Franklin was produced in estimated quantities of 150,000,000! Such huge quantities mean that even today it is a common stamp and most examples are worth a few dollars."
Well, this suggests one postage stamp issued in 150 million quantity is worth few $. I guess $5 or $10. Why on Earth some random LLLL.com (quantity 456976, or 328x less than this postage stamp) would not have value of at least $500? $10x328 is $3280, and even CP LLLL.coms are still not stable on $2000. Moreover, domains are online, so they are available to millions of people in a few clicks. So it is much easier to get them. Postage stamps could also be fake, so it is better to check personally.
Who knows, I already wrote somewhere this might be a new era of domaining and this values might become normal. Of course, there is a chance of crash so everyone should be careful with their investment.
