Chinese escrow - Goldenname

A person wanting to buy my 020.com is wanting to use a Chinese escrow service called goldenname.com.

Has anyone ever heard of this escrow service before?

Any help would be appreciated.

never heard of it, and you would be better off using a more reputable escrow service. the point of escrow is to buy some piece of mind, and i definitely wouldn't be getting any from goldenname.

Relatively new site, less than one year, predominately aimed at selling ascii.cn by auction.

The newness alone would be a put off but the main problem could be getting the funds out of China ( Not sure of the mechanics).

I would also opt for a better known escrow source. Sedo, escrow.com , Moniker.

Keep in mind that there are FAKE escrow sites around, that are set up for the purpose of defrauding people.
The buyer may have a valid reason for choosing that company (for example they are based in the same country and it's easier to transfer funds) but I would feel more comfortable with a more reputable escrow company.

Never heard of it. If the person is in China then they should be able to use any of the more popular Escrow companies available.

I would definitely advise you against using such a relatively new Escrow service. Go with Escrow.com is your safest bet.

Yes, do NOT use this service, noone here knows it, you could lose the name and the cash, they may be legit but not worth risk.

2/ moniker.com escrow service

I don't sell too many domain names so wanted to ask you all if you have heard of this company before (goldenname) but it's a unanimous 'no'.

I will post back the price I got as soon as the transaction (hopefully) goes through.

Actually, moniker looks pretty good too, i've never heard of them before.

The domain name is one year old so they are pretty new. They could be legitimate but outside China looks like few people know about them.

Moniker is mostly a domainer's registrar, you could also take a look at Sedo.com's Escrow service.

Goldenname.com in china is http://4.cn, A new site, but domains invester in China know about it, it is with a good reputation.
May be you can ask this question in http://www.domain.cn/club

very nice domain by the way, i certainly would not take any chances with an unknown service. If you get into any didfficulty, they may not even speak English to help you out.

But the site is worth transferring domains through it ,you can trust it, for I use it often!

We play the ename.com 66.cn goldenname.com ... like you play the enom.com godaddy.com sedo.com...

You can escrow throught goldenname.com.

I am also aware of the site but seems to sell mainly ascii.cn with 66.cn ebname.cn selling/auctioning idn.cn.

I think the main concern is that most do not know of goldenname.com so offer alternative escrow resources.

Om completion of escrow- is there any problem getting funds out of China as all sales appear to be in Yuan and I am sure in this particular case seller wants $us :?
