I think those are good news to all pro IDNers that have been some month working hard to get a good placement for the upcoming big land rush of IDN market.

People Daily has recently reported that the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) is supporting the use of IDNs in their country, China, as their language consists of non-ASCII characters that can only be viewed using IDNs. With the up and coming release of IE7 on the horizon, which is to be 100% IDN compliant, Chinese users will easily be able to navigate to IDN domain to IDN domain with ease. Naturally the Chinese people will take to IDNs, as more and domains will now be in their native language. MainOne.cn, a major ISP in China, will also be heavily promoting the use of IDNs in an effort to make them as popular as possible as soon as possible.

On the other way,

The Kuwait News Agency has recently reported that Internet Goverance Fora (IGF) of Kuwait is promoting the use of IDNs in their country, as their language consists of non-ASCII characters that can only be viewed using IDNs.

I think all of this will help a lot to wash a bit the bad feeling most domainers have about IDN.
People related IDN to some strange symbols, but IDN are extremly important in some languages.. mainly in Asia and Arabic countries.

Any opinion on this?
