I tend to stay away from such "trendy" names.

The Sullenberger name could prove to be a huge hassle for the domainer who registered it.

Yes, Mr. Sullenberger is a true hero, but unless he himself regged ChelseySullenberger [dot] com (doubtful), then the person who did reg it is a name cybersquatter, pure and simple. The registrant regged someone else's name for the purpose of profiting from that name. What a way to treat a hero! If the registrant had any shred of decency, he or she would offer to transfer the domain to this hero.

Just because someone gets an "idea" based on an event does not mean he or she should act on it.

One positive: if the registrant doesn't get WIPO'd, next year the name will most likely be dropping and the registrant will be out a few bucks.

Also, the name isn't easy to spell, so the domain isn't likely to monetize that much.

And you wonder why this industry has a bad rep?

I've just had heroicact.com accepted for Moniker's DomainFest auction starting Thursday 29th. I submitted it before Christmas but can't help wondering if the Hudson incident was a deciding factor for its acceptance :]
