discuss Checkilst before buying domain name

Hi friends,
I wonder if you have a special process for buying a domain name.
I use to check for similar sales, DA, and PA, search volume, Archive.com, and blacklist.
If someone makes more checks I will be happy to learn from it.

Is it taken in multiple extensions? Would someone use this for a brand?
I used to look at PR and search volume..not so much anymore after googles' panda wreaked havoc and made many keyword domains a thing of the past.
