The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

you will find cheaper places than GD but they will have terrible support etc

so GD is a good compromise in that it is still cheap and has good support and quick pushes

I have never seen cheaper prices than some sold here. $1. domans and up. Support local, support Namepros. lol

That`s the way I can be sure that support is definitely as good. Prices btw are mostly lower.

I use godaddy and dynadot myself. As some of the others said, you may be able to find cheaper..but the support will be horrible. You probably aren't going to find much cheaper than $6 or so..

also look into buying in bulk and/or getting special memberships for less-than-retail prices. if you're going to deal with a very large number of domains, you might even consider becoming a reseller somewhere.

There is a lot of Godaddy fans, they are reliable and their prices are fair but I think they have the most annoying IN-YOUR-FACE ads so they try to get you to purchase a whole lot of other crap before you can finally just buy what you first ordered about 10 pages back... plus they never will offer any personal extra help, everything is by the book there and they won't ever budge on nothing. well I do use them as well but they are definitely not the best. I also hope we don't see the continued fan base always saying they are the best etc and no one else is worth considering because without competition then we will be all paying extremely high prices in the future if Godaddy keeps on it's current path of knocking out all competitors and their fanbois get their way.

Godaddy have a huge monopoly on the domain name market, soon domains will be 10x what we pay if they keep knocking out competitors. They are a huge multi-million dollar a month turnever company that is a steam-rolling money machine.. support some of the smaller companies otherwise all you Godaddy Fanbois will be paying huge prices for domains soon.

I bought one from Yahoo for 1.99 yesterday - DIDN'T READ THE TERMS THOUGH - IS IT SELLABLE RIGHT AWAY. I have to email them and ask them.

and I heard Netfirms is 4.95. but of course most of mine are with GoDaddy, they have the support and pick up 24/7 - who else does that.

I have my domains at
- Moniker: $6.95 special pricing, rarely had some problems, though support is not the very ebst.
- Dynadot: After spending $500 there I got $6.99 pricing, and they have very good customer support.
- Fabulous.com I don't use them but my friends do. They have I think $6.70 if buying in bulk.

:hi:

Until October 02,2007 you can reg domains for $4.00 at HostMySite.com.

It's legit.

Last year they offered the same deal except domains were $2.95.

Search the forum for other threads where these offers came up.

From their site:
"Promotional offer valid on new domain name registrations only. Promotional period expires October 2, 2007 11:59PM EDT. $4.00 charge applies to the first year of registration only. The domain name will renew at $8.95 each year thereafter unless cancelled according to HostMySite.com’s Terms of Service. New and current HostMySite.com customers are eligible for this offer."
