do u mean to reg a co.uk we need to have a mini of $500 balance?
i have an account there and there is no such that as minimum credit(however never tried co.uk there)...for special namepros pricing refer this thread http://www.namepros.com/for-sale-advertising-board/215086-moniker-namepro-pricing-6-95-com.html

no...I have already that option but did not activate that pricing due to the minimun $50 that Don writes there too:

"Forum members pricing: $6.95 .com / $5.49 .net / $6.95 .org / $4.49 .info (.net and .info rate apply new registrations only, transfer and renewals are $6.95). Please send us a check or use a wire for these prices or if you use a credit card, please make it at least $500 so we have minimal fees and you still have these low prices. You can send us a check for one domain as we would appreciate your business!"

so I guess it does not apply to PayPal?

If/when you sell a .co.uk Moniker sometimes struggles with the step of changing the TAG. Most registrars allow you to go in and do this yourself, but with Moniker, they have to call their "partner" in the UK to have them do it. It can hold things up. I've found 123-reg.co.uk to be a couple of dollars cheaper and more knowlegable with regard to .co.uk. I love Moniker for other tlds though.

Also, keep in mind that there is no "tasting" with .co.uk and you have to reg for minimum 2 years at a time. It can get expensive if you're not careful.

That`s a very good price....I don`t have to do any tasting, I did not know that .co.uk is 2 years minimun, is there any other issue like any restriction or it is open worldwide?

Thanks

I have weycrest.co.uk as my default registrar. Very good service and cheap price[Paypal]. But the only problem I have is when I need to change the nameservers, I need to be notify them as in sending a support request always

No other restrictions - anyone can reg and use whether they are in the UK or not. (Make sure you do the conversion from pounds to dollars, but I think its about $6.30 US/year converted right now.

On a seperate note, I've made mistakes with spelling differences between the US and UK - colour vs. color, for example - and this has left me with a couple of worthless names. I've also made mistakes re: what things are called - I have SUV names, but they aren't commonly called SUVs there.

By the way, 123 reg has answered the phone both times I've called customer service.

However I have just checked my suspicions and they donโ€™t accept the Paypal payment method

At the moment 1&1.co.uk is the cheapest but I wont recommend you.

I have recently moved all my uk domains from 1&1 to 123-Reg.co.uk and they seem better.

I have used 123-Reg.co.uk a few times to get .co.uk domain names but then i have just moved them all to goDaddy.com, maybe not be the cheapest but it will do, Give 123-Reg.co.uk a go

yes it seems that overall there are only 2 .co.uk registrars:

123-reg.co.uk
and
http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/

but both of them do not use PayPal due to fears of chargebacks???

Here the reply from the second one to my question:

"I'm afraid we do not accept PayPal at all, our systems are not at all geared up to use it, as a payment method it's expensive, it's too easy to charge back such payments and also payments can not be guaranteed to be taken instantly as with a card."

That`s pretty sad.

But even more sad is that since I scanned a large list of names , Nominet UK banned my IP for 24 hours.

Damn. So I can`t check any name.

That is not good as they should certainly do something about it because Paypal happens to be one of the most widely used online payment system.

here's a tip: don't use a UK registrar: they are mostly crap. Freeparking is just about OK, but not in the dirt cheap category, so you might as well use namecheap.
