I have 18 domain names due for renewal ... Currently Godaddy's renewal rate is A8.16 per domain and that's the cheapest that I can find.

Anyone knows a cheaper registrar? Or do I have any other option like becoming a domain name reseller?

Thank you.

Hi livedom,
don't know your domains' extensions, but I have some domains at Internet.BS internetbs.net and they charge $7.15 per .COM transfer, while .NET and .ORG are a bit cheaper. Whois privacy is free.
Hope this helps.

I was going to suggest internet.bs as well.

Depending on the extension there may be a couple of slightly cheaper options if you're willing to transfer out. NameCheap recently had a $4.99 transfer offer on .com/.net/.org but I think that has ended. Keep an eye on the promo-codes threads in the main discussion forum and you may come across some better offers.

I find that renewal rates are often more expensive than transferring your domains to another registrar (even with coupon codes and all). For example, you can use a renewal discount coupon but the private whois will no longer be free. But if you transfer out, the competing registrar offers free private whois only for new transfers + coupon codes. So it's cheaper transferring. Sometimes, some registrar suddenly offers a ridiculous promo like 4.99 for transfers, so if some of my domains are already eligible for transfers, i transfer them to that promo.

So i learned to just rotate my domains around the various registrars every year.

way of the world

"So I learned to just rotate my domains around the various registrars every year." you always get best deal from people wanting to poach another domain companies business.they think they can up- sell new accounts or catch it on the renew.last year I bough a lot of.us for 2.99.so this year I see $19.78 renewals for .us bye bye G Daddy faster than that indy car chick spins her tires.up sell didn't work that time ....but they keep trying. If you start to spend you can get bulk pricing and then not move around so much but GD [I have it and still end up using coupons and all that BS] isn't a place with good rates for bulk .There are many better

I guess aslong the gaining registrar makes some cash outta this it's all good..

And people wonder why it is difficult to move their domains to another registrar after they transfered it a year ago for a dime.

Transfer in and out just takes too long to take advantage of the usually lower transfer rates cf renewal rates.
