Celebrity Domain Interest

I know some of you on this board have some celebrity domains and I was wondering if you have had problems finding people interested in buying them. I have a couple of celebrity domains that have huge search numbers in .net and .org. I've tried eBay and this board but no interest at all.

Do you find that maybe since people feel they can't legally monetize the domains that they don't care to own them?

I think ppl are reluctant to own one, thinking that they can't legally do anything with them. I own marilynmanson.info and no one seems to want it lol :p

I'm not a fan but he has a few hits and his 'the Beautiful People' was voted by VH1 as one of the 40 greatest metal songs. But saying there is no interest simply because you believe Manson sucks is very sad for a domainer today. You need to use logic (your post had none). I'm sure marilynmanson.info has a LOAD of value to a Manson fan who wanted to make a fan site, just as bettywhite.info would be a gem to a Betty White fan.

I suppose each domain name can be sold. You need to stick several good ideas for it. maybe it worth to ask for the appraisal first.
In any case that is your good and you as a vendor need to do your best to sell it.

I think you have to worry about losing celebrity names in lawsuits, given that celebs have deep pockets.

Also, since you can't monetize these names very much (or risk losing them URDP), it would seem pointless to own one.

Your only hope, then, is to find an avid fan who might pay some bucks for your domain, which seems limiting, and that, too, carries some risk.

Obviously knowing that you legally can't do anything with them can scare some people off. But, if you can find the right buyer you should be able to make a decent profit off them. Good luck!

Hi, I'm brand new here and this is my first post.
Hope I'm not breaking any rules by jumping in.
I have bought a lot of celeb names in the past. I used to buy all the American Idol names during the audition phase. No luck selling them. Still have quite a few celeb names too! It's not my main focus anymore though. I had MartinScorsese.net. No interest on ebay. I let it expire. Where else could I find a market for them? What about Michael Jackson tribute domains? I own about 20 of those. Could I legally develop them, and where would I be able to get royalty-free photos? I don't want to get into legal trouble either. Thanks in advance. I may go to bed soon, so I may read any responses tomorrow.
