Hello, i am thinking about setting up a local registrar for my area and im wanting to know which is the best reseller for .com.au domains. The reseller account must be easy to use and customizeable and has the cheapest prices.

If anyone has any recommendations please post here.

Thanks

Morgan

Workaround for some restricted ccTLDs

Hello,

I've thinking about the restrictions some countries have on its ccTLDs, where transfers among domainers are not allowed.

What if a certain group of domains are owned by a company/corp. (legal person) instead of a natural person?

Then, instead of selling those domains I sell the company that owns them?

Of course, those domains HAVE to be real good ones to make it works but let's assume they are. Is this possible? Legal?

If you want to buy a .CA domain in Canada, you need to be either a citizen or a company/organization in Canada. This is a perfect example of what you are asking.

You can absolutely incorporate in Canada - then you'd be able to do whatever you'd like with .CA domains, since you'd be a legal entity in the country.

The only catch is that you often have to have a Registered Agent who can represent the company in case someone wants to sue you, etc. I'm not sure what the fees are, but I have heard that incorporating in Canada runs around $600.

If there are other countries' ccTLDs that you want to register, you may try the same thing, but you'll have to find out the laws on how to incorporate.

Selling the company that owns the .ca's,
will still require the new registrant to meet the CIRA requirements
for the domains. Basically, if you have a legal business in Canada,
you still can't sell .ca's to anyone - they still have to meet the
requirements.

If the company is sold then its still incorporated in Canada and can still own those domains, thats my interpretation of it.

Agreed, the company owns the domains, but they still
can't sell them to anyone they feel like - that doesn't
meet the requirements, and/or act as their presence.

There was more to what I had posted
but there was another post deleted and my response was edited.

Thanks a lot for your answers.

I made this question because I was looking for some GREAT domains with the .PS ccTLD.

I found available many of them, including Grou.PS and Lapto.PS and many more... but then I noticed that everything I searched for was available so I doubt... and made a whois for pnina.ps IN pnina.ps and take a guess on what happened... Yes, pnina.ps was available... :)

I heck them today and they are taken, of course. There seems to be an error with the whois of that cctld.... :(

There are still some nice TLD but I see a lot of problems to be able to sell them later so I think I'll follow one of the rules I've read here so far: Begins your journey making simple things: Buy a good .com and sell it... :)

you can preset .co.uk to auto-renew, and it is looking likely a 'lock state' will be in place soon.
Does .co.uk require early renewal like .de or can you register up to date of expiration?

Some .ca'ers have a real problem with Sibername - I haven't had any problems with them at all. But I still choose to register/renew/transfer all my .ca's to namespro.ca - you will not find better customer service from any registrar!

Also, are there any restrictions on .ne.jp names?

.In Domains Getting Cheaper ?

If you are buying .In domains by paying in USD from Indian Registrar who is offering .In domains in Indian Rupees then you are getting it cheaper (almost 10%) now USD has become almost 10% expensive against INR since last seven months. just think about it ?

Sorry details are here :

CONDITION : If you are not Indian Citizen then natuarally you are paying in for .In Domains in US Dollars through your Credit Card/ Paypal / Google Checkout etc. AND you are buying these domains from the registrar who sales the .In domains in Indian Rupees.

Now when you pay to your .IN registrar in Indian Rupees your credit card will be charged almost 10% less (compare to what you paid in January, 2008), all this because of INR has got cheaper against USD.

Example : Suppose your .In registrar was offering .IN domain in INR 600 then you paid in January, 2008 approx USD 15 (1 USD=INR 40) , now you buy the same then you end up in paying 13.33 (1 USD= INR 45) ?

French administrative contact

Hi,
I'm searching for someone from France who can be an administrative contact for my .fr names.
For more informations please pm me.

Regards

Just FYI a local admin contact is not enough, unlike .de for example.
The registrant must be resident in France.

From naming charter of .fr domains.
"Adult individuals with an address in France."

So registrant don't have to be resident in France.

I have french address, but someone tell afnic that he can't contact with me and they block my domains :)
They didn't want to check my address (sending letter or something like that), so i am searching for someone who is living in France. ;)

"The administrative contact must be based in France and have an effective address in France to which legal and extrajudicial documents can be sent."

So maybe this is the problem with my address.

Of course i will pay for this help :)
