Just acquired and gone for MANY other ccTLD's. Should note that another forum post today mentioned that GoDaddy is now recommending .CC domains as alternatives...a possible sign of a CC market rebirth!

Travel//Deals//cc (no hyphen, all one word)

Over 33 million results for "Travel Deals", close to 90 million without quotes. AdWords Keyworld Tool has over 37 MILLION monthly searches for the team in the USA throughout the month of April.

IMHO, the only problem is the extension, but if CC is making a comeback this could good, no?

Please advise!

Haha, yes, rmg, traveldeals.com would be a great one to own...sadly I don't have the $Xxx,xxx to buy that one.

Anyone with .CC experience have a thought? If the .CC market opens up more I would personally hope for $x,xxx...but at the moment I feel that that high $xxx may be possible.

Sorry but in my opinion that would be possibly low to mid xx in .cc only to a enduser but it probally closer to reg fee to most anyone else, enduser generally stay far away from .cc. DOT CC is not making a comeback, it was never really a good or top extension other than some initial hype , Also registrars say these things because they want you to waste money regging them. I think godaddy is always pushing dot something as the big thng. Thats like Burger King pushing Hamburgers as the greatest thing.

Someone posted recently a thread that premium .cc's go for $100 . thats the top of the market i guess and this one isnt a premium by any means so the top would be maybe $50.

Here is the info i was talking about.

A handful of .cc one word domains have sold recently at Afternic, setting a price point at about $100.

.cc domains, the country code domain for Cocos Islands, have never gained favor among web users. Initially they cost a bundle to register, but now you can register them for about the same price as mainstream domains.

Owners of .cc domains that are wondering about their value just need to look at a handful of recent sales at Afternic:

actors.cc $75
drinks.cc $75
sticker.cc $80
hike.cc $115
OnlineCollege.cc $100
Wind.cc $90

There are also some ongoing auctions:

prototype.cc $75
tofu.cc $100
organizer.cc $75

Given this data set we can say with good confidence that the โ€œresellerโ€ price for decent one word domains in the .cc domain extension are worth about $100.

Thank you Smartphone..repped for the research!

Now, as I see it, Travel//Deals//cc is worth a lot more than those based on the search volume...easily low-mid $xxx I would say. Let's go with USA search volume for April (I'm Canadian, but USA dominates this sort of thing). Google AdWords Keyword Tool used

"travel deals" - 37.2 million
"actors" - 2.74 million
"drinks" - 2.74 million
"sticker" - 2.2 million
"online college" - 0.6 million

Even compared to some of the bigger .CC sales of recent (DN Sale Price- Domain Name Sales Price and History)
"attorneys" sold for $632 - 4.1 million
"incorporate" sold for $590 - 0.24 million

As generic as these are, the two words travel and deals together generate FAR more searches on a monthly basis. Worst case, I develop it reasonably well (better than the .COM and .NET at least) and it may become a very reasonable revenue stream.

Hopefully my analysis makes sense. I really do appreciate any response whether negative or positive!

Have a look at total search volume all of these have more search volume then yours, also there one word premiums and your is far from a premium. .CC have a general top of $100 ( and yeah every once in a while 1 will selkl for more than $100) and thats for good ones. your maybe $xx as I already said. I cant see TravelDeals toping any of these.

Results 1 - 10 of about 84,400,000 for drinks
Results 1 - 10 of about 48,300,000 for "sticker"
Results 1 - 10 of about 84,500,000 for "actors"

Smartphone, from what I have learned monthly searches are for more valuable than search results. I am using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool to see how many times users have search the exact terms in a month, not the number of results generated. With results, pages that mention the word can be included, whereas search volume only includes the exact term being entered into the search box by the user.

Honestly you cant compare a one word premium with a decent 2 worder in my opinion. If the top one word premiums are going for tops ( for the most part , i know theres an oocsional $300 sale etc) $75-$100 then it would be hard for anyone to say a two worder that has variations like vacation Deals and other still avalaible in .cc as any more than that. Just so you know why I say low to mid xx as my apprasial. I have no real basis to say any more than that based on current .cc data. In the end its still a .cc and there hard to sell to most anyone especially endusers.

But anyways best of luck and hope it does well if you do develop it etc.

I appreciate your input! I'm always willing to learn and sometimes venturing into unknown territory (with a .CC in this case) can prove to be a good learning experience.

Anyone else have any input?

your best bet is to develop the name...

build traffic...create pagerank

I have seen some quite decent .cc sales recently - for instance marketing.cc on GoDaddy expiring auction sold for more than $ 900. Of course, nothing that could be compared with what marketing.com could do - but nevertheless not reg fee.

Haha! I was actually planning on submitting to Bido (they seem to take .CC's) and if it doesn't sell there, spend a few days developing the sucker!

Thanks HappyDay!

.cc not seem to be selling lately :(
I got Kinshasa.cc / Rwanda.cc / SaintPetersburg.cc and I still cant sell them, not even a $1 offer.
I think you could get a little above reg fee for it right now.
Hold on to it, and wait till the .cc market goes up, if it ever does :P

Thank you DomainFighter (Ubuntu FTW!) and Oompa!

Curious question about my methods...when evaluating did I approach it correctly? That is, using Google AdWords Keyword Tool to compare my name with ones that have sold recently? I realize there are hundreds of other factors to consider, but for a "rough" guess to see if a domain is worth at least something I hope it is a reasonable approach.

You need to build a website on your domain in order to increase it's value.
