I've had a name parked at Sedo for the past four months that was averaging 30-50 visits a day every day.
Yesterday I parked it with another service but left the for sale listing at Sedo.
The new parking service is showing 2 visits for yesterday, none for today.Even though I changed the parking service, the SEDO numbers have gone up by 23 in the same time.
What's going on here?Any ideas?

It takes time for DNS change to spread around.

Some visitors may be still visiting your SEDO page.

Give it 2 days, and see.

No.The numbers are from when it changed.

One sight may be picking up on bot (i.e. search engine) traffic and one may not. I had one of my domains get 75 uniques in two and a half days when it normally was only getting 1 unique per day. (pemmi.com) I am guessing the extra traffic came from bots because I did not get a single click from the traffic.

It doesn't change on every ISP at the same time. I had an issue with this on one of my websites a few weeks ago, some users were seeing the old page, and some the new page. It will take a few more days for it to switch for all your visitors. :)

Hi Jammer,

Yep, when I used to run a hosting company I would quote 72 hours for the changes in DNS to propagate before everyone would see the new host. This was the Maximum time I saw in 5 years so seemed a good number.
Usually it is with 24 hours.

All the best.

Are you getting any clicks at Sedo with that domain?

Can see where Fonzie is comming from :)

Unfortunately each parking program has their own way of counting a unique user access.

I had one a while back getting several hundred a day ... But not much click through. So I set it up on my own server to check the traffic. Most of it was from forums, where someone used to host their Avitar on this domain and just linked to it from there. So each time someone viewed a thread they had posted it would record a visitor at Sedo, then you have spiders, real unique visitors etc ...

Now I have to admit it might have changed since then, but have tried it with one of my recent domains that was getting traffic at Sedo, once forwarded to another of my domains a look at the logs showed a different story.

The bottom line is really how many clicks you get and at what payout.

All the best.

Well Richard I just thought it funny that I was getting traffic at SEDO moved to Fabulous 0 then the same day within switching DNS back getting hits again. Sechs is 6 in German and some people think its sex. Now using URL trends I just seen that the domain has over 11,000 Links on MSN. Sedopro tools tell me 4% are type ins and the other top referrers are Google searches but URL Trends showed no Google Links. Weird

Hi Equity,

Seem to bump into you every few years :)

The only real way to tell traffic is to set it to your own hosting and look and the raw logs ( not webliser or anything like that ). Bit of a pain, might write some software to do that if the future.

All the best.
