Considering the fact that there are so many threads related to .in domain registrations and also looking at the lots of registration of .in domain done by fellow Npers, i was thinking may be we should have a separate Sub-Forum specially for .in domains.

In this Sub-Forum we all Npers can discuss, buy, sell & appraise .in domains.

Just like we have for DotTV,DotUS, & DotMOBI.

What do you guys think? is it a good idea?.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

May want to stick this in the NamePros Info & Suggestions section next time. ;)

But yeah, not a bad idea. :tu:

Edit:
Looks like topic was moved.

I don't think it's such a bad idea... I'm not huge in the .in market but own some and when I am looking for info on them it'd be nice to not have to wade through all the general discussion posts.

i also want a subforum and as we progress a .in marketplace can also be possible since i also own a .in

If we continue to create these sub forums, everyone will want one for every extension...

:imho:

Demand has to be met with the supply....
When people want it, why not?
And yes, you very well said , " to have sub forums for each extn". It will really ease search process for specfic domain segment.

Agree and disagree. I've managed many forums and thus certainly see your point; however, I feel the .in extension is worthy of it's own area/section for discussion.

Obviously a subforum for .vg/.pro/etc. isn't and likely never will be a necessity due to the much lower demand, but the .in market, on the other hand, seems to be growing at a very rapid rate. While I don't personally have plans to make big .in investments, it's quite popular among many NP members.

.in is here to stay. :tu:

Heres how I see it.

If .IN get one, why cant us UK bunch get one? If the UK bunch get one, why cant DE get one ETC.

I have to say I'm strongly against this as country specific TLD's should be equal. Hence the reason we have a CCTLD forum.

thanks everyone for your comments & votes. I really appreciate you taking time to vote in this poll.

Rick Mills, i agree with your reasoning on not having country specific Sub-Forum, but at the same time i also agree with NemesisXg & Dipen's point that .in is rapidly growing market and has more interests, registrations, threads by namepro members compare to other country specific extensions.

Demand has to be met with Supply. If more and more namepro members are discussing, registering, requesting appraisals for their .in registration then why not seize this opportunity and provide them with Sub-Forum of its own.

If you look at the Domain Name Discussion thread, you will find lot's of people inquiring about .in domain names, discussing about .in domain names. There is huge interest for .in over here at Namepros.

That's my opinion.

I vote yes. Thx for setting up the poll ipodexpert.

Not that having a separate one for each 'popular' ccTLD would not be great. I'd also vote for .co.uk and .de, even though I don't own a single one of either.

All three have a decent amount of interest and aftermarket.

As far as actual Registrations and reported sales go - I just don't see the Demand for it myself.

There are other extensions that would deserve a section before hand IMO (.de / .net / .org / etc ...) - Though I'm not a fan of cluttering up the Forum with too many "Special" sections either.

Well, at the risk of lumping myself in with politicians everywhere... I'm flip-flopping on this issue.

I no longer think .in needs it's own sub-forum. My belief that it needed one was based on the fact that I felt it was mildly annoying at times to sift through all the posts in the domain discussion forum to find the ones about the .in extension. I now think the problem isn't that .in needs it's own sub-forum, but that people posting about .in need to post it in the proper forum that already exists... the CCTLD Discussion forum.

Though I don't post too much regarding .in domains, I am just as guilty as I rarely if ever even look in the CCTLD forum - though if people started putting their .in posts there, that might change... I'd hope anyway.

Now, if you wanted to create sub-forums in the CCTLD forum for the more popular country codes (uk, de, in)... that I'd support.

Yep, so there... I've changed my mind and argued two different sides of the same issue... I'd like to take this time to announce my candidacy for President. :hehe:
