.us Can .US domains work for non-US urls?

I have a client that needs a domain which must have UK somewhere in the domain name, but the only extthat remians is the .US ext, are .US domains still US specific? could they be used for UK specific sites?

Instead of Acme.us working in the UK, how about AcmeUk.com?

Some non-US Geo keywords have sold for some decent money, but I don't understand why. Can't see Paris.US or England.US working etc. If you're looking for a UK related name, and can't or don't want .co.uk, then have you considered .eu? Of course in .eu you might not be able to find any decent generic stuff that wasn't regged as a sunrise trademark for non-existant products.

Had to be the US, in the end.
He insisted the .US means 'us' as in me and you, oh well i tried :hehe:
