Can someone explain AWSTATS Please

I've been getting notices from my hosting (my own reseller account)
about a domain going over it's bandwidth....

about every 4 days for the last 2 weeks I've had to bump up
the bandwidth!
Google isin't showing a difference in traffic and the stats
haven't changed much.
But the AWSTATS have a different number.
And when I say different, I mean by about 2700 page impressions!

It was suggested when I check my AWSTATS to look for anything
that looked odd......ok, I did...and it all looks odd :gl:

What am I looking for?

Are there any specific "larger" files hosted on your account? I know google only monitors what you put their code on, but awstats and the bandwidth monitor looks at the overall account. It's possible either A) you are getting more hits on something not monitored by google, B) your stats are wrong/your webhost is trying to overcharge you (very unlikely, but possible).

Good luck with your situation! Unfortunately, shared and reseller customers do not have access to setup their own bandwidth monitoring server side, so you have to go with what the host says.

Good point, and that may be it...I only have Google
on the main page.

As you say, very unlikely...I have a really good package that
I can add/delete what I need and still stay within my limits :)
(I have lots)

I think you just solved it for me, it makes sense cause on the AWSTATS
it shows the biggest increases on certain .txt files!
Thanks!

Not a problem. If you have any further questions that I could probably assist you with, shoot over a PM :). I'd be happy to help.

OP I have never seen 2 different stats services giving the same results. Log based or not - I think that you need to take in consideration both and try to understand what is truth.
