I'm sure it's been posted here before but I couldn't find the post.

Anyway, can I have adsense on my website and use adwords to promote that website?

Is that allowed?

Thanks,

Mike

There is actually a term for using adwords to get traffic, and adsense to make money.
The goal is to spend the minimum to get traffic and use ads related to high paying keywords to maximize revenue.

That's what I plan on doing, hopefully it will work out. :D

AdSense Arbitrage - it's not easy. But if done right can be very profitable.

I've always wondered if that's allowed or not.

This is the crux of the matter. Not easy. The arbitrage model requires (and I really mean REQUIRES) intense study of keywords. You have to do some serious homework to find a profitable niche, and even then, for whatever reason, a great many of the campaigns will fail or break even.

I am no veteran of the practice (still haven't started my first campaign!), but from what I have learned from the folks who have succeeded, patience pays. It's possible, but not everyone has the knowledge or patience to see it through.

With all that said, I'm still grinding through lists of keywords and working toward my first shot at this.

I use to do adsense arbitrage and for a while was very profitable for a series of keywords. Then slowly the amount I was earning from adsense dropped drastically.

I was thinking maybe the advertisers are all getting smarter these days and putting in lowest possible bids.

Then a friend told me Google was trying to weed out sites like these and somehow reduced the payout to a publisher if the visitors arrived there through adwords.

I don't know how true that is but I've stop doing arbitrage for now, I'm trying to decide if getting traffic from Yahoo is a much better option.

Yes you can, but the google QS is a tough one to get past unless you have some great unique content.

We had a site we tested that at first adwords wanted $10.00 per click just to activate our ad, and if we would of done that it would of automatically gone to the top and got clicked @ $10.00 per click.

But we then changed the content and KW density so then when the google QS bot came around again it adjusted our bid, and with this site our bid went to 4cents per click.

And heres a trick if you get stuck in the google QS game on adwords, everytime you change your content or site so that you will get a better QS create a new ad in that group and pause your other ad(s) , that way the google QS bot will have to allready come to check the QS revelency of your ad and thus gets your page QS redone and saves time, because sometimes the google QS bot will take 24hours, and if your trying to make $ that wont help
