Can I resell space on my .tel generic second level domain?

Question: Can I use a generic domain such as house.tel (for example) to accommodate other contacts?

If this is possible, I can resell the space on this domain?

For example: I am the owner of house.tel and I want that other companies use house.tel for fee. This is possible?

Wow the speculation here is rampant. Sorry to tell everyone but .tel is only worth something if they go in the way of .com and actually let people use their domains. If you bought on this hope than good for you but if you just bought because you could get mike.tel I wish you the best of luck.

Sorry, I totally have to disagree with you on that! Even if it is partially as popular as .com they will be worth something, for the simple reason, that it is not competing with .com or any other tld because it has a very different use. It also have value as a directory builder that can be optimised in SE. Awesome eh :wave:

Auraka, I think every business is a speculative play and some businesses are not profitable for 10 years until break even.

Would you agree? Look at GM and Chrysler right now, they speculated and lost a big gamble.

the .tel investment may or may not be a complete win, but if the phone and blackberry users of the world take off with it then this small investment will be very valuable. This is also not all about money, I purchased these domains because this is fun for me and a hobby of business development. I have learned a tremendous amount already from all of you and alot of reading.. etc.. etc..

Plaggy- agreed on the metrics... I guess what i was trying to say is a word that recieves only a few searches a month would be a waste of money.

I used the google keywords tool along with thinking about what people generally would type in to find something when they are on a mobile phone.

my criteria was atleast 2mil searches per month on google keyword tool. and upwards of 40mil results on google.

that way atleast you know their will be some volume and call volume if .Tel pans out.

my domain as some of you know is Pills.tel

I also picked up Ratings.Tel

why do you have pills.tel on fleabay for 1.5 million?
