Can a dot ORG be as valuable as a dot COM?

I'm in the process of acquiring a domain. its a three lword catchy phrase that could be very valuable in a marketing campaign or as a company slogan for example...

Since I'm after the .COM, I'm wondering if I should also get the .ORG since I can picture it being used outside of the dot com domain...

Have you had a similar situation where you thought the .org could be more valuable?

Would acquiring the .org or .net (or both) help to raise the value of the .COM ?

If your acquiring the domain simply for later resale, the .net and .org are nice, but the value it adds to the lot is questionable. Retailers and Consumers, want to see a web address on a .com - it has an established trust with both. The net/org have done well also, but in terms of development, you develop the King, and let his sujects redirect.

If its for development, get em - if just resale, if you get them cheap, great. If not, no worries.

.org is more valuable only when you are creating a nonprofit organization but besides that .org tend to have less value than it's .com counterpart.

Hopefully acquiring .net and .org will eventually help in selling the .com later on

Yea, having the .net and .org (and now days .info) can never hurt.

I don't think .ORG would be as valuable as .COM, but would be better than .NET if the keywords match

As always, it really depends on the domain. Many .org's sell for a large amount of money, but really never near the value of the .com with the same name.
