Calling all vB'ers! Actually, All forum admins, take a look!

I am looking for some advice on my forum. It is not ready to be launched yet, but I am working hard on having it ready in a few weeks. I have a few questions though, on vB.

1. How do I SEO it properly?

I have looked all over the internet and found many, many "Tips and Tricks", none of which seem to even help anyone. I know vBSEO is good, bur I'm not spending $150 on it! So, what tricks do you find to work well?​

2. How do you gain active members?

Obviously there is no "Instant Members Program", and I won't be the biggest over night, but what have you found to work the best?​

3. What mods do you like?

I am running the latest vB version, 3.6.8. I am wondering what mods you have on your forum, and what mods you like on others.​

I'm sure I'll come up with more soon!

I've heard of that, but have also heard of many issues associated with it. Have you tried it?
