Defence and intelligence sources in Washington and London confirmed that a renewed hunt was on for the leader of the September 11 attacks. “If he [Bush] can say he has killed Saddam Hussein and captured Bin Laden, he can claim to have left the world a safer place,” said a US intelligence source.

Well, it would be no surprise to me if Bin Laden is caught in a November surprise.. I don't think it would particularly vindicate Bush tho, or make the world any safer.

When people keep telling me that Islam is a peacefull religion and then I see suicide bombers killing inocent people indiscriminately in the name of Allah, what am I supposed to think?
When a 2000 pound bomb is dropped from a 'war machine' at 30,000ft what do you think about that?
Is it Ok to kill many in the hope of killing a few? (Hang on .. I think they're called 'smart bombs' these days?)
Or .. are the reasons for dropping it reasonable? (according to public perception)
What religion do the 'droppers' subscribe to .. and is it relevant?

Why don't you ask the US Airforce that question?

Why don't you ask the suicide bombers??? Suicide is forbidden in Islam.

From the link: http://islam.about.com/cs/currentevents/a/suicide_bomb.htm

Why do they do it, and what does Islam say about their actions?

"And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you. But do not transgress limits. Truly Allah loves not the transgressors."

- Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:190)

Suicide is forbidden. "O ye who believe!... [do not] kill yourselves, for truly Allah has been to you Most Merciful. If any do that in rancour and injustice, soon shall We cast him into the Fire..." (Qur'an 4:29-30).

I think you should have to read about ISLAM before you point any fingers about things you don't know.

I don't have to respond to your posts. I've already put my point of view across. This type of discussion will obviously go nowhere.

I am surely off base, but in regards to suicide, I would be willing to bet that Islamic Extremists see a difference between just going off by yourself and committing suicide versus strapping on a bomb, ploughing into the midst of your perceived enemies and taking out as many as you can with your weapon.

Certainly a gray area, but that's why they are referred to as extremists, I guess.

Is there a 'foot-stomp / go off and sulk'' smiley on this forum?
Was there something difficult to answer in my post?
