This is a strange one!

MEXICO CITY — A five-ton elephant escaped from a circus and wandered onto a busy highway, where it was hit by a bus and died on Tuesday.

State officials say bus driver Tomas Lopez, 49, also was killed and at least four passengers were hospitalized after the pre-dawn collision in Ecatepec, just north of Mexico City.

Very sad... Did the bus driver not see something HUGE on the road or did he think he would be able to successfully run OVER the elephant???

I misread the title and thought it said "Bush Hits Elephant in Mexico" to which I was wondering WTH?

I think its those circus peoples fault. I meant I don't think its hard to notice when an elephant is missing. Haven't they notify authorities ? Poor elephant also the driver. I guess he didnt see it coz its night or something. Also who would think you would bump in to an elephant in Mexico ?
