Went to binance.com yesterday to convert BTC to STX. Fought for 2 hours but couldn't find any option or anyway to do that. Then I messaged support and they replied I need to click on "Trade" in top menu and then on "Convert" and there I can convert BTC into STX.
But there was no STX option there. I replied back and now they are saying that convert option is only available for high liquidation currencies and if I want to convert BTC into STX then I need to buy them from their marketplace.

Atleast it is 5yrs and not 1yr like friggin' .eth.

Talk about grinding my guys. Getting a blockchain domain and being subjected to registry renewals. Defeats the whole premise.

So finally I was able to buy STX by selling BTC but when trying to transfer out, it says minimum STX amount must be 20. SMH!

don't sell your BTC for this junk. just another for-profit, hacked together clone of ENS with no longevity

Meh .crypto is better, no renewals, and more broad.

    Just another gimmick.
Firstly, it's not a domain name, just another address on the Blockchain, self certifying as a domain.
Secondly, if ICANN tomorrow approves .BTC as a gtld in favour of any registry, where does these so called domains stand?

It's the same issue all the other "extensions" like .crypto have. ICANN will just delegate them on the actual root DNS without caring.

The have done it in the past. They will do it again.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New.net

and there are many other examples as well.

Creating "extensions" that require special software or servers have no protection when it comes to ICANN delegating the actual extensions.
